Ninia has supported C4CC (amongst other rescues) for years, by donating proceeds from the sale of her beautifully handcrafted "made with love" decorations and cards. For a week from Monday 4 November her latest seasonal creations are featured. THANK YOU, dear Ninia, for including the Zakros kitties again this year! With an extra 50+ mouths to feed, winter will be challenging and your kindness will make a real difference to them.

A desperate plea by my dear friend Rowenna at Care for Cretan Cats in Zachros. (It’s a closed group so you need to ask to join it and you can’t share her posts from there). She works so hard in her community to support cats and really needs our help.

“A new cat family was dumped at hubby's veg garden 2 days ago - mother and 6 healthy-looking kits about 7 weeks old. Seven extra mouths to feed, for their lifetimes. I just don't know how I'm going to keep up with extra food, let alone any vet care they might need in future. Mother will be neutered very soon and of course her babes later. PLEASE, if you have anything to spare, send it. (We've recently started feeding a large colony of a villager who died, about 15 cats but each visit revises the number upwards. We just can't cope with such increases). Interesting that the dumpers NEVER leave even one small bag of kibble, or tin of meat, with the little creatures they shunt around like bricks. This burdening of already overstretched rescuers, which happens everywhere on the island, is truly despicable and is NOT excused by saying "at least they didn't just poison them all'. I'm delighted to report that she loved it so much she commissioned other work from Sue. Little old streetcat MAVROULI had all her many rotten teeth removed yesterday, after this photo was taken. She must have been in considerable pain, making eating difficult, and in this heat her constantly dribbling mouth attracted horrid flies. You could smell her a good way off! She's in my cat room now, with all her needs supplied, and will be closely monitored for some days. Already I can see some improvement, a little more liveliness, and the injections of pain-relief meds and antibiotics will help even more. A happy photo of the latest adoptee, little ginger MERRY (on the right), in his new home with a pal he adores. He was brought in to care from a very dangerous road, where he appeared suddenly and all alone. Lack of online time means we seldom manage to post about ongoing work, but it NEVER stops: neutering, vet visits for serious cases, daily feeding rounds and much more. Donations have dropped and dropped for many months now, yet costs of food and vets increases constantly. PLEASE don't forget us! Many grateful thanks to Dorle for buying the last 20 numbers so we can do the draw later today to find the lucky winner of Sue’s beautiful work. And a massive thank you too, to everyone who has participated and shared. The draw will take place at 21:00 EST, 19:00 BST this evening 13th June by Jade Hessay using an online random number generator.

This is a fabulous opportunity for Rowenna to top up her kitty bank for the summer months, but also another chance for one of us to be a lucky w1nner.

Sue Taghioff creates the most beautiful and realistic paintings so this is a real honour to be offered another chance, and to support Rowenna and her work caring for a huge number of community cats. (Check out Susanna Taghioff Art).

The painting can be either on paper presented in a mount ready for framing, A3 in a 16x20 inch mount, or on canvas 16x20. If the canvas option is chosen then the painting can be in memorial with ashes included in the paint.

The winner to liaise with Sue, and must be able to send her clear, in focus photos. The timescale for the commission also in agreement with Sue.
