A desperate plea by my dear friend Rowenna at Care for Cretan Cats in Zachros. (It’s a closed group so you need to ask to join it and you can’t share her posts from there). She works so hard in her community to support cats and really needs our help.

“A new cat family was dumped at hubby's veg garden 2 days ago - mother and 6 healthy-looking kits about 7 weeks old. Seven extra mouths to feed, for their lifetimes. I just don't know how I'm going to keep up with extra food, let alone any vet care they might need in future. Mother will be neutered very soon and of course her babes later. PLEASE, if you have anything to spare, send it. (We've recently started feeding a large colony of a villager who died, about 15 cats but each visit revises the number upwards. We just can't cope with such increases). Interesting that the dumpers NEVER leave even one small bag of kibble, or tin of meat, with the little creatures they shunt around like bricks. This burdening of already overstretched rescuers, which happens everywhere on the island, is truly despicable and is NOT excused by saying "at least they didn't just poison them all'.
