Care for Cretan Cats Fundraising

HELP! 150 cats are facing a grim Christmas unless we can raise funds to feed them, let alone for any vet care. Donations have all but evaporated and only a handful of faithful supporters have kept us going for some months now. Despite constant efforts to cut back, we're struggling to get by. WE NEED YOUR HELP to get through another month, let alone the whole winter. If you can spare even the cost of a coffee, PLEASE send it to [email protected] using Paypal (copy and paste to avoid errors). I know well how hard times are for everyone and both Elpida and I have dipped deep into our own pockets but now they're empty. We've worked so hard, for so many years now, and healthy, long-living cats are our reward but we CAN'T DO IT without more support. Please step up for us, and for them. To the few who have, these last few months, THANK YOU very, very much!

🥳**MINI JEWELLERY AUCTION UPDATE **🥳
Thank you all for your bids, 16 out of the 20 items were sold and with some 'rounding up' and a donation from Joan McCann a total sum of £171.25 sterling and 20 euros were raised!! 😍
Virgo sent her donation direct to Rowenna and I rounded the sterling up to £175 and this was sent over this morning 😄
(Rowenna asked for it to be sent direct to Elpida so she could purchase the cats food).

Ninia has supported C4CC (amongst other rescues) for years, by donating proceeds from the sale of her beautifully handcrafted "made with love" decorations and cards. For a week from Monday 4 November her latest seasonal creations are featured. THANK YOU, dear Ninia, for including the Zakros kitties again this year! With an extra 50+ mouths to feed, winter will be challenging and your kindness will make a real difference to them.

A desperate plea by my dear friend Rowenna at Care for Cretan Cats in Zachros. (It’s a closed group so you need to ask to join it and you can’t share her posts from there). She works so hard in her community to support cats and really needs our help.

“A new cat family was dumped at hubby's veg garden 2 days ago - mother and 6 healthy-looking kits about 7 weeks old. Seven extra mouths to feed, for their lifetimes. I just don't know how I'm going to keep up with extra food, let alone any vet care they might need in future. Mother will be neutered very soon and of course her babes later. PLEASE, if you have anything to spare, send it. (We've recently started feeding a large colony of a villager who died, about 15 cats but each visit revises the number upwards. We just can't cope with such increases). Interesting that the dumpers NEVER leave even one small bag of kibble, or tin of meat, with the little creatures they shunt around like bricks. This burdening of already overstretched rescuers, which happens everywhere on the island, is truly despicable and is NOT excused by saying "at least they didn't just poison them all'.
