We raise AKC health tested (OFA certified) Cavalier King Charles Spaniels in the heart of our home.
The puppies went to the vet today for their full health exam! The vet said they did fantastic and all of them received their health clearances to go home.
They also got their microchips, vaccines, and dewormer. It is hard to believe they are 8 weeks now! We don’t send them home until the 9-10 week mark, so they will be leaving the nest within the next 2 weeks ❤️ We are so proud of these little ones!
We like to use a parachute to help them develop overhead awareness. Overhead awareness helps the puppies learn not to be afraid of unexpected situations and changes to their environment 🌟

Life of a breeder. Both my gloves were covered in doggy fluids. I couldn’t stop to eat because I needed to express milk quickly to stop Button’s engorgement from getting bigger. She surprised us within hours. Button got her milk in fast 😅🫣 and I have been working on her not getting more engorged, for hours…
My husband took a photo of me drinking a protein shake during all this. I wasn’t really in the mood to eat with my hands anymore, gloves on or not! 😂🫣 And yes, that is a bed you see to the right. We monitor mom and puppies round the clock 24/7 during the first couple weeks. We truly care about our mommas and her puppies! ❤️❤️❤️
And she did it! We have 5 healthy and beautiful Cavaliers. 3 boys (1 Ruby, 2 Blenheim) & 2 girls (1 Ruby, 1 Blenheim). Delivery started around 9:00 pm and ended around 3:00am this morning. The first thing we noticed was how smart her little puppies are. They latched on immediately with next to zero help and they all seem very self aware. It’s amazing what breeders seem to pick up on with each litter. The beauty of life is miraculous not just with humans but with these beautiful creatures. ❤️

It’s OFFICIAL! Our sweet Button is expected to have her puppies right after Christmas🎄 We of COURSE used Princeton as the stud for this litter 🥰
Button LOVES to be a mom. Her love for her puppies on her last litter was definitely felt by all those around her, including her precious puppies.
Mom and Dad have all their OFAs completed (eyes, heart, hips, patellas), as well as genetic testing done. Remember, these are not standard vet visits, these are tests only performed by specialists and approved through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals.
If you have been wanting one of Button’s puppies, reach out. Puppy picks go in order of deposit. We do our own temperament testing and also hire to do their special testing as well. We are so excited to work with these puppies and help them grow into amazing companion pets and or amazing service/therapy dogs❤️❤️

It’s hard to believe Button & Emmy’s litters have finally gone home (minus one left we are boarding). It tears me up to write this. They have all been such a joy. Of course it has been lots of work, no doubt there. Raising puppies requires your heart and soul, lots of sleepless nights, and work! BUT the joy I feel when handing these puppies over and seeing them with their new family is PRICELESS. We wish you all well and we are always here for our families ♥️ We wish you all the best!

Simba is our last Cavalier King Charles Spaniel looking for his special home! Let me just tell you something…this boy is something else. He is SO sweet, tender, and he loves to love YOU. He wants to please you, kiss you, cuddle you, and make you feel like you are the best person ever. He will make a great companion 💓

Puppy curriculum is all about helping the puppies grow and develop age appropriately. If we were to have thrown a bunch of toys in their pen like this 4 weeks ago, they might have been fearful and not trusted us humans as being their safe place. But as you build trust and patiently let them physically develop, you see that they become immune to random and silly things and they just learn to enjoy life without fear. 😊

I’m tempted to just keep him for our program because he’s so wonderful 🥰 but we can’t this time around. Mom and Dad are both fully health tested and have OFAs and Pennhip. We offer a health guarantee and he goes home with his vaccines, fully dewormed, a microchip, and lots more! We put our heart and soul into raising our puppies. Did you know mental stimulation for a puppy is oftentimes more tiring than physical exercise? So if you find your puppy needing to get out those puppy zoomies or just want them to grow and develop in a healthy way, help their brains solve puzzles! It will not only be beneficial for their health, but they will sleep nice and sound afterwards ♥️ #cavalierpuppies
Crate exposure needs to go slowly and consistently. You can’t expect a puppy to stay in a crate the moment you introduce it. It takes positive associations, patience, a willingness to let them out BEFORE they get overwhelmed, and learn their cues. As time goes on and you build up with the positive reinforcements, they learn the crate is a “den” or “safe place.” It’s never a place to dwell or live for long periods of time! It is only for sleeping/resting or to hang out occasionally. Sometimes our dogs just go in to get a break from us silly humans. The door stays open the whole time and they take a little snooze and leave as they please. Just remember…start slow. Be patient. We expose our puppies to all sorts of situations and experiences. This is important to do in a safe environment and follow their lead. When we try to desensitize them to certain stimulation we don’t just do whatever we want, when we want. We expose them age appropriately and push them a little harder when they are ready for the next exposure. If they are fearful at all, we monitor and hold back so they feel safe with humans and learn to trust us and then try again later. Our puppies leave knowing they are loved and empowered! This particular exposure activity is to help overhead awareness and desensitize them to stimuli that may cover them in an enclosed space. The big day came with Maligator Kennels! Russ and his amazing team (professional dog trainers with a huge background in canine psychology) came out to evaluate (temparment test) both litters. It’s so cool to see the puppies own personalities but it was even more exciting to see how AMAZING they scored. They ALL scored within ideal ranges and every single one will make a most excellent dog. Way to go little ones! Hard work pays off 👏🏻 Also, we still have a couple spots left! ☺️ (This video below is just of the Golden Retrievers).
What do our puppy pens looks like for exposure time? 🤩 In this video I explain why it’s important to have stimuli in their pens for at least a few hours a day. They do need their down time (to rest and de compress) but we make sure every day there is something in their pen to help stimulate them, teach them new things, challenge them, and desensitize them, age appropriately. Just last week we were under a couple feet of snow! Today it was 75 degrees 🤣 Welcome to the wonderful & unpredictable world of Utah weather. I have lived here almost 20 years and the weather still surprises me every year!We were anxiously waiting until we could take these puppies out! Exposure to the outdoors is very important at a young age. We let them play and play and play while we sanitized a bunch of toys and did lots of cleaning.
