MyDOG 2 - International dog show Gothenburg 04.01.2025

Our first dog show of the year. We went for a quick day trip with Karo. Very pleased with the results!

Karo (Skaringen's First Impression) was Best Of Breed and later made the shortlist of the final 6 of Group 8.

Big congratulations to Aino, Pekka and Riikka with the results today at CACIB Show in Kainuu (Finland) 🥰 Very pleased the results of these Dragon puppies, first time in official classes just 9 months old. Judge was Tino Pehar.

Happy new year everyone!

We started the new year with the arrival of our “VII - Prada” litter - a long awaited litter!

Prada gave birth to 11 big puppies on the night of 5th of january. Sadly there was a puppy with stump tail and midline defect we had to let go. It is not easy to be a breeder at all times.

We are very happy with the remaining 10 puppies, 7 girls and 3 boys. We even had 2 liver girls - a nice surprise! Prada is a super mom, very attentive and caring. The first weeks are always a bit nerve-wracking, but everything looks good so far.

We look forward to seeing how they grow in the next few weeks!

Sire: Odin - Skaringen’s Ebony Seraphim II (dob.: 12.10.2022)

Odin is from our 2nd litter. He has the sweetest character, a well mannered and easy going dog. Odin is a dog of super size, great anatomy and substance, super proportions, nice croup and tail, thick coat, smooth mover with lots of drive. Odin is an active dog with will to please, a great swimmer and keen retriever. He lives in a family with small children and has been the easiest curly to live with.

Health: HD A/B, AD 0/0, Eyes mild distichiasis and micropunctum, EIC carrier, GSDiiia clear and Pra-cord1 clear (genetics by parentage)
Shows: Shown twice - BOS, BOB, 2 x CAC and Group 4

Dam: CH Tephra Devil In High Heels (dob.: 03.10.2020)

Prada is our 4,5 year old American import bred by Kari Swarztrauber. She came to Norway as 9 months old due to Covid, now she lives with our wonderful co-owners Espen and Marianne. Prada is a very easy going and polite curly with a wonderful temperament. Prada is a bigger girl, upstanding, a longer cast, well made throughout with a beautiful classic head and expression. She is a strong mover with a lot of power in her side gait. Elegant yet substantial.

Health: HD A/A, AD 0/0, Eyes clear, EIC clear, GSDiiia clear and Pra-cord1 clear
Shows: Norwegian and Dannish Show Champion and Group 3 placement.

This is the first litter of them both. We think this pairing complement each other - both in strengths and weaknesses. They have a lot of the similar attributes. We hope these puppies will have a lot of the qualities we look for in a Curly.

Home from our last show in 2024! We are very happy with our first trip to the famous “Stora Stockholm” show!

It has been one of the more enjoyable shows we have been to, especially the atmosphere outside the ring was amazing. Thank you everyone who contributed to the Curly picnic after the breed judgement! We need more of these social gatherings.

The dog shows are more than just about winning, but also the place to sit down, talk about the breed, look at dogs and share experiences.

We are happy to share the news that we hope to have puppy paws in the house in about 2 months!

Yesterday we had a successful breeding with Prada and Odin.

We think this pairing will suit our goals for our breeding with classic curly features, great conformation, good health, excellent easy temperament and will to please.

Made her debut in the show ring this weekend, 7 months old. She was more a like kangaroo in the finals, but she had fun 🤣 Ended up at BIS 3 puppy under breed judge Penny Gowland (UK).

We had a super weekend on the west coast visiting family and friends. We even got to squeeze in a dog show!

Only 4 curlies were entered under breed specialist Kalvo Kriisk. It was a nice get together with curly friends and puppy buyers. Ira made her entrance in the show ring less than 6 months after giving birth to 12 puppies! Even 2 puppies from the Dragon V litter made their debut in the show ring. Very impressed with puppies and owners. Very pleased to read the critiques afterward.

We are so proud to announce that our first export is now AMERICAN Conformation Champion! Max is now known as:

US CH Skaringen’s Jet Powers III, RN, CGC, WC

Max had a fantastic specialty week finishing his CH winning BOW at the CCRCA National Specialty under Karrie Dollar. He followed up the next day winning Select Dog for the first time in the breed class at the NCCCRC regional Specialty and Select Dog again at the Gateway supported entry.

Not to be forgotten, he gained his first Working Certificate (WC) and did well as the test dog for the Upland test. He was also first in Rally Intermediate! All these ribbons gave him the Versatility award.

A huge shout out to Iris Andre for all the hard work she has put into Max. He was certainly a special puppy, but he would not become what he is today without you.
