Today we celebrated! 🎉

We celebrated the end of an incredible summer and celebrated the real super stars …our student counselors!

When know when you see our counselors, you see a bunch of cute teens.

WE see true LEADERS and real EQUESTRIANS!

Our counselors used all the training and knowledge that our incredible trainers Ms Brittany with Equestrian Dreams SWFL LLC and Ms Hannah with HW Horse Performance LLC have taught them and shared it our campers!

They taught them about horse care and nutrition, they taught them about the difference between Western and English tack, they taught them how to properly groom a horse for riding, they taught them how to stop and steer their horses, and walked endless laps with the campers who felt more comfortable being led.

Not only did they help teach our campers a TON about horses they were patient, they were kind, and they were FUN!

We are BEYOND blessed to have such amazing lesson kids and families who call our barn home!

THANK YOU sooo much to our counselors and their families for all your support this summer we are going to miss seeing your faces each and every day ❤️❤️

Did you know some days are too hot to ride⁉️

When you add the temperature PLUS the humidity it helps us understand the horses ability to regulate their body temperature.

The kids added up the numbers and helped us figure out that the temperature plus humidity today was over 180 🥵

That meant no riding today, while the kids were sad they completely understood that the horses safety has to come first always!

Everyone stayed cooled…horses had bathes, bobbed for apples and carrots, indoor crafts & games, and extra pool time🏊🏼‍♀️

FUN FACTS⁉️

When the temperature (Fahrenheit) is added to the humidity (%), you will have these heat stress effects and risks.

Below 130 = Most horses can thermoregulate

Over 150 = Hard for most horses to keep cool, may affect the horse’s ability to sweat

Over 180 = High risk – horses are unable to cool themselves properly, dangerous conditions

😄 I can't believe we are officially half way through summer!

Week 5 was soo much fun! We celebrated the 4th of July together 🇺🇸 and had a couple new friends drop in everyday!

❤️ Watch till the end We couldn’t be more excited! Vet thinks she is due within the next month possibly 2 months. **** We did not breed this mare **** Faith is one of the rescues from the Charolette County seize we’ve only had her for 2 months. We had her tested because she was out with 2 stallions and while we’ve been feeding her really really well she’s getting bigger and bigger by the day so we suspected that she was.
