Equine endocrine disorders such as Equine Metabolic Syndrome (EMS) and Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction (PPID) feature some striking clinical similarities, most notably a predisposition to the development of chronic laminitis. However, the underlying disease biology is quite different in each case.

The graphic below describes some key differences to be aware of between the two diseases.

If you have questions or concerns about your horse in regard to EMS or PPID, contact your veterinarian so that they may further evaluate them.

The 4th of July is approaching. Here are some things to keep you and your pet happy and safe:
1.) Ensure all animals have an identification tag with your name and number on there (this applies to cats and horses as well !) 🪪
2.) Update your microchip information through there website with all the correct information.
3.) If your pet is one who has to have or needs medications, please have them filled THIS WEEK (NOT July 3rd). 🎆

We have had the best time while in Austin/Dallas/Fort Worth 🤩

From CE classes to the historic Fort Worth stockyards to the Dallas Cowboys stadium.

We make the best out of our CE trips and so glad we got to spend it together. ❤️

As for our clients we will be available for farm calls/appointments starting Friday June 28th. If you’re needing an appointment please message us to schedule as Fridays schedule is already very full.
