A morning spent prepping a high calcium chop base mix.

This mix is the base that I add bits to each day.

Spinach is given as an occasional treat in one days portion of chop a month because the vegetable is high in oxalic acid. This inhibits calcium absorption and can lead to an array of problems.

I am currently getting Oakley interested in solid food so a sprinkle of seed , herbs, flowers and pellets on his chop adds different textures.

This chop base has raw: Pumpkin, Broccoli, Dandelion leaves, capsicum and a quarter of an apple.

I place excess mix in ice cube trays and bags in the freezer.
When defrosting I add a few spoonfulls of quinoa or cous cous to absorb any liquid before feeding.

50% Angel 50% complete gremlin His tantrums are pretty funny. I usually have my hair in a bun on my head and he climbs up and stays all day. Don't have a bun today so he is chucking a wobbly because he can't get up.

It's always Bath time here! Human fills my water dish 4x I swim in it immediately 4x! Human thinks that by giving me a shallow bath full of water , I won't keep emptying my water bowls... She was wrong! My Human gave me a warm blow dry today because there's no sunshine to dry me. #Quaker #parrot #birdbath

Foraging time for Oakley Each day we change it up. Oakey is an insanely good flyer but his climbing skills are atrocious 🤣 Lots of daily practice out in nature and he will have the hang of it in no time

I play with my harness everyday, its part of my routine. I have it over my head no problem at all. Not long i can go for big flies outside in it.

Oakleys first flight I am giving very large obvious hand signals to ask him to fly to me. The same signal I do everytime i open his cage. With a little practice he will be able to land where he wants and control speed / decent. For a first fly, he got quite a bit of distance. #babybird #babyquaker #quaker #oakley #parrot #handraised

Exploring food. He love Capsican and Apple Ate nashi pear and spinach today. I can crack millet but anything bigger , well he try's to help his mouth with his foot , then he knock's it from his mouth and bite's the dish as punishment 🤣 #foodlover #eatsleeppooprepeat
