Khloe is the 2nd longest resident.

🎉Available for Adoption or Rescue🎉

Khloe was surrendered to the shelter after she started to become extremely overprotective with the kids in the home and not like whenever other people tried to play with them or come too close to them. She would growl at people when she felt she did not want them near her or the kids she was protective of but never bit anyone. We were told that she could be picky with new dogs and did not always like meeting new dogs but they were worried about her getting into a fight. We can tell since she has been at the shelter that most of her behavior is fear based and staff has not had any issues in handling her. If you slowly introduce her to another dog she will calm down and start to play. She can be picky on some dogs but her best friend at the shelter is another pit bull. She can be very shy with new people and cower and try to run away from you, but once she gets used to you she will jump on your lap to say hi. Khloe is 6 years old, HW -, spayed, and has all of her shots.

If there is any 501c3 who would like to pull her for rescue please email our rescue coordinator Kelly Henderson at [email protected]

If wanting to adopt please contact the shelter at 817-230-0460 or reach out to [email protected]

🐾 Available for adoption or rescue 🐾

Tyson has been in the shelter the longest and is about 1.5 yr old lab mix. He was surrendered to the shelter due to him playing rough with the child in the house and while they were playing the child was bit on the cheek. He is a sweet dog and does love to play, but due to is energy levels would not do well in a home with children. He loves to play with the other dogs and will bark to get our attention to let us know that he was to go outside and run around. He knows basic commands and will sit for treats. He is absolutely terrified of the vet or getting anything medical done and has to have a happy pill to get his shots and exams or he will not let the vet touch him... BIG BABY... Tyson was HW positive when we got him but has since finished his HW treatment and needs to be retested in 3 months to make sure that he is fully cleared. His best friend at the shelter is a female pit bull that loves to play with in the yard. he hates to come inside at night even when it is freezing outside and anytime the shelter gives him blankets, he will always carry them to his outside area of his kennel so he can lay on them there. He has tons of energy and would be a great running partner. Tyson is neutered, microchipped, and has all of his shots.

If interested in meeting him please stop by the shelter or call 817-230-0460 for more info. If you know of a rescue that can tag and pull him please email our adoption coordinator Kelly Henderson at [email protected]

UPDATE: Adopted!🎉

🚨 BEEN IN THE SHELTER FOR 412 DAYS🚨

‼️EXTREMELY URGENT‼️

Hello everyone, my name is Jensen. I have now been living at the shelter for 412 days and unfortunately, my time is almost up. Let me tell you my story…

I originally came into the shelter as a stray last year on 2/09/21. I was SO scared when I first arrived, that my shelter moms had to carry me around. After a couple of weeks, I started to slowly come out of my shell and show everyone how sweet and loving I am! I was adopted once, but surrendered back to the shelter due to a bite Incident. I was so protective over the kids in the household and unfortunately bit the owner. This is the only bite Incident I have on my records, but it certainly scares people away from adopting me. I think that might be why I’m still at the shelter 412 days later 😞.

I absolutely LOVE my shelter family and they LOVE me, but with the amount of owner surrenders and strays coming in, my time is almost out. So here is one last special post for me to find a forever family! I am a young adult at approximately 3 years old and currently weighing around 55 pounds. I am a shepherd mix who is neutered, current on vaccinations, HW- and microchipped! Someone very nice sponsored my adoption fee in the hopes of finding me a home! I am always smiling, super friendly, sweet, loving, VERY energetic and treat motivated! I LOVE treats, stuffed kongs and squeaky toys! I will sit and shake for treats! I LOVE attention from my shelter family, enjoy bouncing up and down the fence with the other shelter dogs. I do well with most dogs but a meet and greet with any dogs in the household is a requirement to ensure we get along 🙃. It is unknown if I’ve ever been around cats. Due to me being protective over my loved ones (I especially LOVE females), I would make an excellent guard dog, but that is definitely something to think about. PLEASE OH PLEASE share my story to give me one last chance at finding my forever family!! I don’t have much time left! Is there ANYONE out there for me????

If interested in me, please contact the shelter at (817)230-0460, send a private message or email our Adoption Coordinator, Kelly, at [email protected]

RESCUED!

We have 5 puppies that need our of the shelter ASAP!
A shelter environment is not the ideal place for any dog, much less young puppies. 😭

These precious bundles are definitely an odd mix. Dad was a pittie mix and mom was a dachshund!!! Yes, you read that right!!! You can see mom in their legs!😍

Please help them get out of the shelter. They need out FAST!!

🚨🍼PREGNANT DOG NEEDS RESCUE ASAP🍼🚨

Help!!! Shelby is pregnant and her belly is getting BIG! Our tiny shelter is FULL and we have no where to comfortably keep a pregnant dog. Shelby is a young adult and came from a house with several other dogs. She is medium in size. We are unsure of her breed but she certainly is an interesting mix! She came into the shelter absolutely terrified but has been slowly warming up to her shelter moms. She knows how to sit on command and enjoys snuggling up next to you once she trusts you. Are there any 501c3 Rescue organizations out there who has room for our precious pregnant Shelby?

UPDATE: Adopted!

❣️❣️I’VE BEEN IN THE SHELTER FOR…❣️❣️
374 days!!!

Hello everyone, my name is Rebel. My shelter family also likes to call me, “Big Kahuna”! I’m reaching out to you all because, well.. you see, I was surrendered by my family back in February 2021. They stated the reason was due to me resource guarding my food. I have been waiting to be adopted for over ONE YEAR now. 374 days to be exact. I love my shelter family very much, but my one wish is to find my forever family and be able to sleep inside of a comfortable home. Let me tell you a little about myself… I am a senior at approximately 7+ years old. My previous family said that I am a Cane Corso mix. I’m a big girl weighing close to 90 pounds! I think that’s why my shelter moms came up with Big Kahuna!? Since the first day I arrived at the shelter, I have been sweet and loving towards everyone. My shelter family says that they have never had any issues while feeding me or giving me treats. Boy oh boy, do I ever LOVE treats! I am very treat motivated!! I enjoy sunbathing in the play yard and rolling on my back in the grass! It’s so fun! You should try it sometime! I can show you how! I do get along with other dogs, but I prefer calm dogs that give me my space. Is there anyone out there looking for an older lady like me? I am already spayed, current on vaccinations, microchipped and HW negative! Pretty please give me chance! I’m starting to lose hope that no one will ever pick me. Please share my story with everyone you know in the hopes of making my dream come true! I will be waiting for you!!!!

Love always,
Rebel, aka Big Kahuna ❤️

HELP! This is Rose, she is a pitty mix who is HW positive AND possibly pregnant. She only weighs 26 pounds and has super Bowed legs, in both the front and back. She also has some filed down teeth so probably kept in a cage for most her life. She is SO unbelievably sad and scared but as sweet as can be. Besides having some of her teeth being ground down, some of her teeth being ground down, she appears to be young, approx 2 years old.

🚨‼️ BOBERT NEEDS TO BE RESCUED BY END OF TODAY‼️🚨

Poor Bobert needs to get out of the shelter by the END OF TODAY! We had a very generous citizen pay for some tests to be run and so far VCA is thinking it could possibly be a fungal bacterial disease, liver disease, pancreatic disease or cancer. We are currently trying to get him in for an X-ray. We can NOT keep him in the shelter in his condition. He now refuses to eat and is starting to get weak. We DO NOT have a Vet on staff so we really need a 501c3 rescue organization to pull him before it’s too late! Bobert is a young boy at approximately 2 years. We are NOT ready to give up on him yet! PLEASE share to help save Bobert’s life! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 if Interested in pulling, please contact the shelter at (817)230-0460! Thank you all for your help!

———-

Our precious Boy, Bobert, needs to get out of the shelter environment ASAP! We are desperately trying to find a reputable 501c3 rescue organization who can pull him. The sooner the better! 🙏

Here is Bobert’s story: Bobert originally came into the shelter as a stray back in AUGUST. Upon intake he weighed 56 pounds and seemed healthy and happy as could be! Bobert picked up some intestinal parasites and was treated for that in October. He got adopted in October and was returned back to the shelter after only a couple of days the other dog in the household didn’t like him. Since then, Bobert has continued to deteriorate in the shelter environment. He still to this day has horrible diarrhea and now he’s not wanting to eat. He has been on different medications, dewormers and special food, but so far, nothing has made improvements. He now currently weighs 46 pounds so he’s lost 10 pounds since his original intake date. We are SO worried about him and we are BEGGING to please share this post in the hopes of finding him a rescue who can hopefully get him throughly examined by the vet and do any testing that they need to. If needing anymore details or interested in pulling this sweet boy, please send us a private message or call the shelter at (817)230-0460 to leave a voicemail. PLEASE HELP US HELP BOBERT! 🙏🙏🙏

**AVAILABLE FOR RESCUE OR ADOPTION**

Bobert came into the shelter as a stray back in August and is STILL waiting for his forever home. He was adopted out one time for two days and then returned because the other dog did not like him. Poor Bobert has had consistent diarrhea for quite some time now. In the past he did have intestinal parasites that were treated, however he continues to have diarrhea. All of his latest fecals have been negative so we are starting to think it might be from stress and or food. For the last month we have switched him to sensitive stomach food but still no difference. This boy is SO sweet and LOVES other dogs! We are estimating him to be approximately 2 years old and he is now neutered and current on vaccinations. We need to get Bobert out of the shelter setting and into a home!

‼️‼️Rebel has been living at the shelter for OVER a year!‼️‼️

AVAILABLE FOR RESCUE OR ADOPTION**

Rebel is our shelter’s current longest resident. This big girl has been living in the shelter since last February! Rebel was surrendered by her life long family for guarding her food. She didn’t want to take a chance with children around. The owner stated that Rebel bit her while she was setting her food bowl down, however, there was no actual proof of this. Since being in the shelter for over a year, we have not had any issues feeding or handling this girl. That being said, we use caution and don’t stick our hands in or near her food. She quickly became a shelter favorite and her nickname is “Big Kahuna”. She is very sweet around ALL people and has been slowly making dog friends. She prefers to be around calm dogs. Rebel is a 6+ year old cane corso mix weighing close to 90 pounds and is now spayed and current on vaccinations! This girl LOVES to sunbathe and roll around in the grass.

PLEASE help her find her way home!

‼️‼️HELP find this adorable pup a home ASAP‼️‼️

AVAILABLE FOR RESCUE OR ADOPTION**

Mr. McScruff was brought into the shelter as a stray last March and is STILL waiting to find his forever family. He came in HW positive but finished his treatment and is now ready to go! We are estimating him to be approximately 4 - 5 years old. He is neutered and current on vaccinations. Scruff is looking for an active family who can provide him with plenty of regular exercise as he is high energy! He is a medium to large size dog weighing close to 50 pounds. We believe he is a Border Terrier mix. He can be picky with people and other dogs but has been getting better. Once he knows you, he is very friendly and a goofball that always makes us laugh. One of his favorite things to do is carry his blanket around in his kennel. We think he does it for attention and it certainly works!

PLEASE help him find his way home!!
