Moms here! Where is she?!"
Puppies are almost walking and eyes are half open. Should be open all the way over the next 36 hours. In this video they had been sleeping then Ruby came into the room and they could sense her outside the box eating. Are they excited? Just a bit. I'm rotating them with collar breaks to avoid funny hair around their necks. I'm almost able to tell them all apart now without the colors.
Happy one week old to the Poets. 🙂 eating, sleeping and growing is still the name of the game. A few more days before things start to get more fun.
Ruby leaves the box now several times a day when puppies fall asleep then returns about 10 min later after eating, drinking almost a whole bowl of water and taking care of business. This is the puppies reaction when she has just returned and laid down. She positions herself close to where most are laying but there are always a few that have to make their way over. I am tempted to help the stragglers but I believe that they are learning things by overcoming little struggles. It's always amazing to me how fast they move at only 3 days old.
Makin it rain ... ;)
Mr light blue (Walt) sat this one out but that's ok cuz he's been taking the best spot and being a little piggy all day.
The pack waiting to meet the puppies
When a puppy is squawking "Aunt" Rose (she's a half sibling) Dad Valor and honorary Grandma Lucy all gather outside the door to see if they can help. They are eagerly awaiting their chance to meet the new babies. Lucy especially is rather jealous of the extra meals that mom dogs get and she has volunteered to stand in for Ruby and also would please like to eat every 3 hours pretty please and thank you.
Puppies nap while Ruby gets a quick break to eat. She's eating about every 3 hours around the clock to keep up.
Beautiful morning again today. Feels like spring.
Valor hangs out at school dismissal time
Today Valor did some work on not pulling towards everybody we meet and getting used to buses. He did great as usual. We have a long way to go with not pulling on leash, but I care more about positive experiences right now than training.
There's nothing like a good game of bitey face among friends.
Lucy met a goose today and was unimpressed by his shouting.

Willow and Rose playing tug
Willow at the lavender farm
Willow making a new friend in the neighborhood. I got some lavender plants to add to the herb garden while she sniffed everything.
