Snuggling with sibs is the best way to stay cozy and warm when mom is away. The apples continue to be one of the quietest sleepiest (and chunkiest) litters I’ve ever had. Must be some good stuff Rose is serving up.

Planned Lucy Grandpuppies this winter. This litter is a result of collaboration with the larger breeding community I’m involved in. We are working on creating purpose bred pet dogs outside the traditional confines of breed. If you are looking for a medium sized, active dog who will thrive with kids and other dogs, and would love to be your partner in a sport or activity- this litter might be for you. Some will have doodley low shed coats and some will have coats like a spaniel. Check out the pictures to see the fun colors of their siblings who are now 15 months old.

So nice, we're doing it twice! After much talking, planning, analyzing of puppies, and seeing how amazing this combo is, we've decided to do a repeat breeding between Marcie of Old Mission Retrievers and Cuba of Mandala Dogs. We love every single puppy in their first litter. They are great family dogs, athletic, smart, silly, and full of joy. The variety of sizes, coats, and colors was a definite fun bonus. We hope to share more of Cuba's high intelligence and low arousal, along with Marcie's enthusiasm, love of snuggling, and their combined passion for retrieving, swimming, and working with their handlers.

These puppies will be mostly gun dog breeds, with a bit of sighthound, so they will be active. energetic companions, up for fun with the family, hobby level sports, hiking, camping, etc.

Cuba is Amy's main class demo dog for group classes, and enjoys hiking, swimming, competing in rally, and training foundations in freestyle obedience.

Marcie was originally trained as a public access service dog for a young handler, who now has quite a different set of needs. Marcie has retired from that assignment, and loves acting as a therapy dog for massage therapy and therapeutic yoga patients. She assigned herself the job of stabilizing her favorite yoga patients when they need assistance.

There will likely be two guardian home opportunities for friends local to either program who are willing to keep a dog intact for future evaluation.

One week old! Everybody has more than doubled their birth weight. Can you believe one week ago they all fit inside her?! I love this stage. This is the scene when Rose comes back after a meal break. Ginger got sidetracked for a sec but found her way to the portal between mom’s front legs. 😀 It’s tempting to want to help but I know it’s better for them to figure things out themselves when they can.
