When you train with me, you know how much I adore walking dogs with long lines when appropriate.
Jake is a nervous guy, always sticking close beside me or even slightly behind me, despite having 15 feet of space.
Isn't that what we want? No, not in this case.
I know he's beside me because he's scared.
I want Jake to feel confident enough to explore the environment and venture out a bit.
Today, Ruby, Jake, and I went on a walk, and look at this! 👀 Jake was out front, exploring and sniffing, not worried about anything in the environment. Another bonus: he was enjoying snacks throughout our entire walk. Another great sign that Jake is comfortable.

Sunday evenings are my favorite to relax and watch the kids play after a busy weekend. ❤️
Little Leah has no problem keeping up with the big dogs. She’s bubbling with confidence and loves playing with her new friends.

Jake's confidence, specifically around meeting new humans, has been a work in progress, with men being particularly scary for him. However, during today's encounter with four visitors, Jake rapidly approached the men and sought attention within five minutes and readily interacted with the women. This marks a big shift in Jake's perspective, and I am extremely proud of his progress.

Miss Ena kicked off her first day at camp by sniffing and exploring the yard for critters. She spent several hours ensuring that no lizard was going to get away.
Now she snuggled in for a good night’s rest.

Miss Matilda is here today for her behavior evaluation. Im going to spend the morning with her to learn more about her reactivity.
Mattie barks at everything.
I want to get to the root cause and address that instead of trying to micromanage her with obedience commands. It’s like puppy therapy. ☺️🩷

We had a bit of a setback earning Bobby’s trust last week. I had to take him to the vet. That means he must be on leash. One of Bobby’s biggest fears is going near him with a leash. Then getting in the car, out of the car, strangers touching him and then repeat again to get back home. It was tough for Mr Bobby. He ran away from me for days. 😞
We are slowly getting back to where we were.
The good news is that he LOVES his doggy friends. He is running and playing like a normal dog. I even heard his voice for the first time. His back legs are getting stronger and working more normally. His eyes are looking softer and I see daily tail wags.
Baby steps are big for this kiddo. It’s going to be a long road to mental health for Bobby

Miss Maisie and Miss Ruby had a date at a coffee shop this morning. This was Maisie’s first patio dining experience and she rocked it. Sooo proud of her! 💪🏼

Cali says park visits are exhausting. 😜
So far, Cali has been endearing and confident. At 34 pounds, she is the perfect size to adventure with. She is not used to being so busy tho.

Jake is a young pup that has not had a lot of life experience. At approximately 1.5 years old he shows fear around new experiences, people, environments and sounds.
During his training stay, I am safely exposing him to new things. A big hurdle was his fear of getting in and out of a car. I have been working to shift his emotions to a positive state when he sees us walking toward the car and then jumping in the car. After many days of high value food, lick mats and collagen sticks he still wasn’t feeling it.
Then I brought out Ruby. Ruby LOVES getting in the car. She runs as fast as she can and jumps inside the car with a lot of enthusiasm. Jake watched her do this a couple of times and then decided he wanted to see what the hype was about. Jake jumped right in the car. 🚗 It took Ruby 30 minutes to do what I couldn’t do in five days. Jake needed a dog friend to show him it was safe. My dogs are my co-workers and I pay them well.
So, all three of us got in the car and went to the park for Jake’s first training field trip. ❤️🐶 👏🏼

Flynn and Maisie are BFFs. They enjoy other friends company too but today I gave them the entire yard to themselves so they could kick off their day. Needless to say, it was a big party 💜💙🥳

You are meeting someone for the first time and they throw their arms around you, pull you in tight and give you a big, wet kiss 💋
What would you think? How would you feel?
Although this person may have good intentions, it’s not likely you would enjoy that pushy, intrusive first greeting.
Now let’s talk about dog greetings. When Guinness first meets a new dog friend, he jumps in the air, likely landing on top of his friend, puts his feet all over their body and shoves his face in their face. The friend likely responds with growls, barks or simply running away. Needless to say Guinness is not creating friendly relations.
Today, I controlled Guinness’s greetings all morning. His friends were not liking his boisterous energy but he did not have the opportunity to vault off of their body. After a few hours, Jake decided to give Guinness a try and initiate play.
They had a wonderful play session and both ended with a great experience.
Way to be a good friend, Guinness!

📢📢BREAKING NEWS This morning at 6:30am, Miss Egg-Marie filed a formal complaint with management at her vacation resort. Egg saw her friends enjoy breakfast before she was served. The complaint goes on to say this type of sub-standard living will not be tolerated. She has announced this atrocious treatment to all her friends . 😂❤️🐶

Buddy went on a field trip to the pet store! I told Buddy if he was a good boy he could pick out a new toy. 😇 It was a difficult decision but after he sniffed and explored each amd every toy, he chose the perfect prize. 🏆 🐾💜
I had a feeling Logan and Buddy would be fast friends. I’ve lost count how many new friends Buddy has made during his first week of camp. Way to be an A+ student, Buddy boy. 🥰
Thank goodness young boxer, Jackson, arrived so the party can get started 🤩
