A video demonstrating the importance of a behavior interruption task. Lincoln is demonstrating the same task but in 3 different ways. I have Lincoln use this task for PTSD meltdowns/flashbacks, or Autism over stimulation. It helps me break the dangerous cycle of fear, anxiety and depression because I can't shut down or shut myself off from the world.
Lincoln will not stop interrupting this behavior until I can calm myself down and he knows I'm safe. This task can also be beneficial to people who struggling with skin picking or hair pulling.
Labradors are bred to retrieve ducks in the water. So I try to get him out to the water to fulfill the instinct he was bred with

Because Lincoln is so big I use the disability bathroom stall so he has a place to stand comfortably. Here we are practicing staying in the stall
