Nice clutch from my OG pair—a superconda het albino female and albinoconda het axanthic male. 16 good eggs (on the lower end for her, but she’s getting old—as a matter of fact, I’m retiring her!) with her usual set of twins. She *always* throws at least one set of twins.

It’s been a minute; been busy! What have we been up to? Well…a lot. Reptile-wise, got some hognose eggs (details will be coming about pairings and what not); some corn snake eggs (most babies have gone already!); some ball python eggs (bc why not everyone else does 😜). Tried and failed with the woma pythons, currently pairing Egyptian egg eaters and false water cobras! Here’s some of those eggs (spoiler, many have hatched!) more info will be coming from us soon!

This doesn’t look like much, but this humble clutch of eggs represents 5 years of experimental husbandry, research, and work! This is my first clutch of Egyptian egg eating snake eggs from a pair other than the ones I’ve been pairing successfully for the last 3 years—which means my breeding protocols are reproducible!! As a man trained in the sciences, I’m nerding out!

Been a while since I’ve done anything here. Honestly, the season has been s**t. Not a single viable egg. That’s just breeding for you—sometimes you crush it, sometimes you don’t. Which is all good, because I’m always looking for ways to expand the collection to offer more variety, with a focus on the weird stuff! Here’s a calabar burrowing python (Calabaria reinhardtii) I just picked up showing how similar her head and tail look to confuse predators into attacking the wrong end. Very cool underrated species I look forward to working with.

Here’s something kind of cool I’ve never seen before. Both of these eggs were eaten by baby egg-eating snakes, but one was too big for the snake to successfully fully collapse it—but it did successfully suck the contents out anyway!
