🐈‍⬛ Mei 🤍

Mei arrived into care 28th November 2022 and sadly she’s still here. She’s just shy of spending her whole first year of life in foster care 💔

Mei has gone from the small, starving and flea ridden kit she arrived as to an absolute love bug.

Mei really loves and thrives on human attention and affection. She just wants to be wherever I am and is constantly seeking pats and cuddles.
She also loves to play, whether it’s a ping pong ball, a wand toy or with our other resident cats.

Mei has grown up around middle aged children 9-12yrs old), many other foster cats and 2 dogs. She does take time when introduced to new foster cats and tolerated our dogs only getting a little frightened if they chase her.

Mei is fully vet worked and up to date with vaccinations.

Mei is the only kitten I’ve ever had in care to receive absolutely no interest 💔
She’s never had an online application, she’s never had anyone show any interest in her at adoption days and I just can’t understand why.

Mei is a little pocket rocket. The right amount of love and play.

You won’t be disappointed if you enquire about Mei, she’s available for adoption and her profile can be found in my bio and via petrescue.com.au - just search her name 😊

Birdie Day 1 - Birdie Day 114

114 days in foster care 💔

Birdie arrived at Mummaskits with her sister Billie and Brother Bambi. We had been working with to trap these babies during a Melbourne heat wave.
After many attempts Courtney was able to secure these babies and bring them in. Their Mum was also trapped and is still in care.

Birdie was another bottle baby.
Birdie has grown in a stunning young lady, she is playful, curious and learning to be a lap cat. She can be shy around new people but once the toys come out she warms up quickly.

Birdie has a beautiful bond with her foster sister Mei but loves all the other kittens she is currently residing with as well.
Birdie has been living with many other kittens, our puppy, resident cats and kids.

Birdie will need to go to a home with either a friend she is currently living with or a home with a friendly cat or dog.

Birdie is ready to go now. She is desexed, vaccinated, wormed, flea’d Bd microchipped.

Please feel free to send me a DM if Birdie sounds right for you and we can organise a meet and greet. Her PetRescue profile can also be found in my BIO.

💗 Help me find Birdie her puurfect home, she’s ready 💗

Mei Day 1 - Mei Day 172 😔

When Mei arrived with her Mumma Mushu and brother Po she was not expected to survive. They were all riddled with cat flu, dirty, full of fleas and Mei was unable to feed from her Mum. Our first vet visit only a few days in and I was warned to prepare for the worst. I began tube feeding Mei every three hours to help her frail little body and give her every chance of survival. Slowly but surely Mei gained weight, her little eyes opened and one night she magically latched on to Mum 😍 something I had prayed for more than anything. I believe whole heartedly that the tube feeding provided gave her the strength and will to want to drink from Mushu and ultimately saved her life.

172 days later Mei is still in foster care 💔

Mei is loveable, cheeky, mischievous and super duper cute! She’s the first to greet anyone and everyone who comes to the kitten room. She loves to play, she loves to cuddle and gentle pats and chin scratches are her favourite.

Mei has beautiful connections with all the other kittens she is currently living with, and I would love to see her adopted with a friend. I often find her and Birdie together but she loves the others equally.

Mei is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and flea’d. She is ready to go. She has been living with kids, a young spoodle and our resident cats.

If she sounds like the girl for you please feel free to send me DM and we can arrange a meet and greet 🏡 Mei’s Pet Rescue profile is also listed in my BIO.

🖤 Help me find Mei a home, she’s so deserving 🤍

Today has got me feeling well and truly defeated.

It’s Easter Sunday and whilst most people are spending time with family and friends, we who volunteer in rescue are still on the daily grind. There is no days off in rescue, doesn’t matter what the occasion or celebration may be, we have tiny lives relying on us for food, cleanliness and love.

I walked into my kitten room this morning only after 5ish hours of sleep since the last clean up and I just closed the door. The mess, the poo, the smell, the meowing for breakfast and the morning cuddles and scratches - today it was just all too much.

After taking some time to eat breakfast with my children and reminding myself why I do this I went back up to those beautiful little faces and we started the day.

This weeks been hard. Cole and Clara have been unwell now for some time. It started with Cole just over a week ago and now whatever it is has a hold on sweet baby Clara too. They’re on a cocktail of meds and probiotics. We’re back to daily baths and bed changes. They’re separated from their mates and confined to a crate which breaks my heart.

We’re just plodding along, all of us. Taking each day as it comes.

This is the side of rescue I don’t feel like is shown and talked about enough. The fatigue, the burnout, the helpless feeling when your dealing with sick fragile kittens.

It’s easy to show the cute cuddly playful side of it all, but this is the reality, my reality and whilst I absolutely love all things Rescue I am exhausted.

This kitten season has been the biggest and the most emotionally draining that I have been apart of. ❤️‍🩹

✨ Arlo, Amara and Asher ✨

These beautiful souls have been in our care since 18.01.23. That’s going on 7 weeks and I’ve had no interest from anyone wanting to adopt them 💔

Arlo and Asher are available for adoption as a bonded pair. Arlo does rely on the confidence of his brother to help him when he’s feeling anxious. But I’m saying that Arlo is every day becoming more and more confident. He initiates cuddles and love from me how which he was too scared to before, he and Asher are constantly purring. Asher is very confident, loving and will suit all households. He’s great with other cats, children and had a very chilled out nature.

Amara is a beautiful kitten. She’s super loving, although is still wary of being picked up. She’s a lot more comfortable if you are to place her on your lap if you’re sitting down or on the floor with her. She’s quietly confident and holds her own with her brothers. Amara adores her nightly treats and gives extra head boops when they’re given out, I usually give her an extra one 😉
Amara copes well with other cats and has enjoyed the company of my children.

If you or someone you know is interested in these babies please feel free to click the linktree in my bio and you can read a little bit more about them on the PetRescue profile and apply to adopt them there 😊

All three are so deserving of their own homes, where they are loved and cherished. They need that and I really want to find that for them.

I know there is a purfect home waiting for them 🏡

If you feel it’s right for you, please share this post. Amara, Asher, Arlo and I would be so grateful. ❤️

Introducing Billie 💖 Birdie 💞 and Bambi 💙

We’ve known about these babies for some time after a community member reached out for help. After that heatwave we had I was sure they wouldn’t have survived but by some miracle they did ✨
To say locating and finally trapping these babies was difficult is an understatement. has worked tirelessly to get these little ones to us safely and I am forever thankful for Courtney’s help. You’re amazing girl 🫶🏻

Billie, Birdie and Bambi are all doing well. Birdie is having a little trouble with feeding so for now we are tube feeding and she’s tolerating it and gaining weight.
Billie and Bambi are crazy for their feeds.

They’re approximately 3 weeks old and I will do everything I can to see them thrive.

So please welcome our ‘B’ babies.

Fortunately for Mrs Mushu this heat cycle she’s currently experiencing won’t result in another pregnancy.
She started displaying some what I thought was odd behaviour late last night.
She’s exhausted, she can’t sit still, she thinks any object that touches her is that mate she’s seeking, she’s constantly trilling and meowing and being overly affectionate.

To think her baby Mei is roughly 5-6 weeks old and had they been living out on the streets still Mushu could of ended up pregnant again. She only had babies a short 5-6 weeks ago.
It’s mind boggling to me still, just how quick the turn around can be from one pregnancy to the next.

At the moment we are in the thick of kitten season, pounds are exploding, community colonies are out of control.

Please if you have a pet that isn’t desexed - BOOK IT IN.
Reach out for help if you’re not financially able to.
Contact a rescue of you suspect your Queen to be pregnant and ask about their ‘last litter program’ almost all rescues have one.

Help us stop the spread of unwanted kittens, they’re being dumped left right and centre along with their mothers.

It’s cruel and unnecessary.

Our last little link is here. Contact us if you need help. No judgement attached.

🧼 Bath Day

Neither Mushu, Mei or myself were in the mood for bathing today to treat their suspected ring worm 🫣 but we got through it 💪🏻

The last couple of weeks have been full on, the bathing every second day, constant sanitising and cleaning, washing of bedding, trips to the laundromat it’s never ending.

I also can’t help but feel robbed of precious time and missing all of Mei’s little milestones after we worked so hard to keep her earth-side. Yesterday she showed me just how big she’s getting by drinking from the water bowl, eating biscuits and then this morning using the litter tray.
She’s spending almost all her time away from Mushu. Sleeping independently and playing constantly on her own 🥺. As I watch her thrive and learn I can’t help but wonder what Po would have been like and how adorable they would have been playing and learning together 💙💖

I really love being a volunteer foster carer but s**t sometimes it’s hard. Emotionally, mentally, physically, financially. So many emotions right now.
Im grateful I can provide a safe and clean space for this mother and daughter duo and whoever comes to me after them and all those before them.

Aaaand that’s my little insight/rant for a Sunday night 😂
Thankyou for reading if you got this far.

Then and Now 🥰

I still can’t get over our little survivor and thriver!

When Mushu, Mei and Po entered my care they were so poorly. The sickest cats I’ve ever fostered. I’ve had dirty, stinky and feral cats/kittens but not sick so this has been a huge learning curve for me.

Sadly as many of you know we lost little Po 💙 a week after he joined us. He’s the first foster I’ve ever had cross the 🌈 bridge. His little face will be forever imprinted on me.

Mei is gaining weight like a champion. She’s running a muck, playing with toys and climbing my legs. We’re slowly introducing solids and she’s showing some interest in the litter tray.

Mushu is also thriving. She’s such a companion cat. She adores being rubbed and loved on.

Mei’s then and now just shows the level of love and care it takes to foster. It’s not easy. I feel like I’ve been through the absolute wringer with her but seeing her sass start to shine makes my heart sing 💖

Baby Boy Po 💙

You were with us exactly a week today and what a week it’s been. So many highs, lows and everything else in between. Arriving at MummasKits with cat flu we knew we had a humungous uphill battle, and we gave it our absolute everything.

I knew after yesterdays scare that he wasn’t in a healthy way but I persisted with tube feeding and monitored him closely. This morning I walked in to find Po cold and gasping for air. My heart sunk.

Unfortunately Po’s little body was in respiratory distress and it’s with the heaviest heart we made the kindest decision to set his spirit free ❤️‍🩹

The photos and video above this caption are exactly the reality of what alot of foster carers are going through more often than not. In the last 7 days I’ve felt so many emotions. I promised myself every single milestone these babies reached we would celebrate and I’m so glad we did. We cheered every feed, every wee and every wobbly walk around the kitten pen.
We cuddled, I held them close and told them how much I loved them.
Po deserved that and so much more.

I love you little Popo, may you fly free to where all the other kittens are waiting for you. 🤍🌈 🕊️

Please,
••• DESEX YOUR PETS •••
Desexing your pets is the only way to stop this kind of tragedy. Po is just one of many who have lost their lives due to human negligence and a broken pound system.

Team we need YOUR help 🐾❤️‍🩹

Kitten season is in full swing.
Here at TBCP we are wanting to expand our reach and help as many cats and kittens as we can over the coming months but we need your help.

The costs of such a task are high and our funds are running low.

All donations $2 and over are tax deductable.
Every single dollar counts.
If you can spare a few $$ we are deeply greatful. Your money goes directly to assist with the care of the cats and kittens we intake.

Please, if it feels right to you share this post and help us get our name out there.

Cass 💖
