Don't avoid plushies just because your dog tears them apart. That's what they're SUPPOSED to do to it! As long as your dog doesn't swallow the stuffing, I recommend getting a plushie the same size as your dog. Replace when shredded.

When Odin was adopted at age two, he was aggressive towards other dogs. His new parents were disappointed that they wouldn't be able to take him places. I knew he was trainable. We worked with his fear issues by desensitizing him slowly, while training his obedience. I used decoys and finally some non-reactive dog pack walks and meet and greets. Today Odin found a friend he really clicks with!

Odin was a rescue, up from the south. He got bounced around between owners and fosters looking for the right fit. Finally at the age of 2, a young couple committed to him and wanted to do everything right by Odin. So eager to please, Odin was excellent in his "obedience" but he had some fear issues and was dog aggressive. We eased into training slowly, giving Odin a chance to acclimate to his new surroundings and decompress from his tumultuous past life. We gradually desensitized him to other dogs, using distance, decoys, and finally, Pumpkin (who is now one of his favorite friends). He is now learning how to play properly and accept other dog's boundaries, while learning to communicate.
