Let’s talk matting… long coated dogs can be a lot of work to maintain BUT if you are combing your fluffy butt out properly I promise it will make life easier on you both.
Usually the first thing a lot of my long coated clients will say is “ I don’t want them shaved.” Or “the last Groomer shaved all their coat off I was so sad.”
Here’s why… Before a groomer can even put your fluffy butt in the tub the pup has to be thoroughly brushed out. We cannot have any matting or tangles for if we do and we get them wet it tightens the Mat or knots.
If you are not brushing properly it can take a groomer 45 minutes or longer to work through the coat. Thats a lot of pulling on your fluffy butt not to mention it’s hard on the groomers fingers, wrists and arms. Many won’t do it. They will save your fluffy butt the discomfort and shave them. Groomers love your dog and don’t want them to hate them either. Dogs remember pain and discomfort.
If you like your fluffy butt fluffy, then make sure you are brushing properly at home using a slicker brush and a metal comb. ❤️🐾❤️
Hi guys! Many of my clients have ask me how to properly brush their Doodle or long hair fluffy butt so here is a little tutorial video to help. Daily brushing can be a great bonding experience but also helps tremendously to prevent mats from forming and uncomfortable grooming sessions. When I have a doodle who has not been combed out regularly it can take me 45 minutes or longer just to prep the coat for washing and can be upsetting/painful for your fluffy butt. Hope this is helpful❤️🐾
A little French serenade while I was grooming today.🎶😆
