Biggest animal welfare fine in history! I'm sad for the thousands of Beagles who suffered. But this enormous fine will hopefully deter other dog breeding businesses to upgrade their standards.

The U.S. Department of Justice just announced that Inotiv will pay more than $35 million, including an $11 million fine for violating the Animal Welfare Act, the largest in the Act’s history, because of violations that occurred at a facility that bred dogs for use in animal testing in Cumberland, ...

If more people knew this fact about dogs, fewer dogs would be surrendered to shelters. Dogs are not humans!! Dogs need a lot more sleep. Your dogs are sleeping while you are working. They are NOT suffering.

Is your dog sleeping the normal amount? Dr. Sandra Mitchell talks about how many hours dogs usually sleep each day, and what to do if your dog sleeps all the time or gets restless at night.

Neighborhood Watch for Pets

For pets and the people who love them

Do you love animals? Do you sometimes see pets in your area who need a helping hand? Neighborhood Watch for Pets is here to help you help them. We can work together, as a tribe, to help guide a good outcome for companion animals who need intervention. It’s a big goal and we need everyone on deck, including you!

One quick way to get input is to visit our website https://www.neighborhoodwatchforpets.org and look around. You’ll find info about what to do in an emergency, how to start a neighborwood watch for pets, and lots of animal rescue stories written in their own words. People like you and me did something good to help a dog or cat and even saved lives, and they wrote to us to share their stories. Neighorhood Watch for Pets was started by Sunbear Squad Inc., a 501(c) non-profit started in 2006, to become a helpful resource in a world where so many animals are in need. Animal neglect is often, but not always, unintentional. Sunbear was a chocolate lab who starved in a townhouse laundry room in West Virginia; he did not survive. You can read his story on https://www.sunbearsquad.org. Please share our page! We need you to help us grow so we can be stronger together.
