It was a fun and eventful August and September for many of our Chapter members! Locally, WE Cochrane hosted our clinics + schooling shows both months at Highland Stable, and Prairie West Chapter held their WECan sanctioned shows at RMSJ and the Red Deer Westerner Grounds. A little further away, the Cross National Camp & Cup was held in Moose Jaw! And, of course, many of us enjoyed watching the WAWE European Championships from afar! So many excellent opportunities to participate in and to help grow the passion for this wonderful discipline.

We have our last event of 2024 later this month at Highland Stable - The Halloween Clinic & Schooling Show on Oct 26th & 27th. Registration forms will be out tomorrow!!

Scribing is an amazing way to learn more about the rules and what judges are looking for! I strongly encourage you to sign up if you're able to!

Wow ! Thank You for stepping forward to volunteer!

The Fall Fling will be supporting 2 Shadow Judges from the Licensed Officials Program of WECan.
They will be participating to fulfill their learning requirements by judging on their own and then submitting their judging results back to WECan. They too will need scribes.

2 scribes are needed - one for each shadow judge - for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Days start about 8 am and finish around 4-5 pm, Sunday is shorter. Friday is Dressage, Saturday Is Ease of Handling, and Sunday is Speed .

It was a HOT weekend! First of many clinics and schooling shows to be hosted at Bonnie and Clyde in Sylvan Lake. From Ontario , Lise LeBlanc; a professional educator, USAWE Judge, Classical Dressage and yoga instructor came out West to share her knowledge of Working Equitation. Participants "Rode a Test" in the clinic then received a 30 minute one on one. This process substantially improved everyone's test scores on the schooling day. During the heat of the day everyone cooled down in the shop as they listened to the Working Equitation presentations that Lise Prepared. We practiced how to hold the garrocha pole properly and with style . Then we got a better understanding of the 4 different ways you can go through the Gate. Plus a great review on all of the obstacles.
Hydration, hats, sunscreen and sweat was the theme over the weekend.
Congratulations to the participants and the volunteers for what they did to make the weekend amazing!

We started early when the rooster 🐔 crowed. It was a hot day, but we all managed to stay hydrated . So much fun and enthusiasm among the young riders , auditors and horses! An extremely educational day! Well received by the participants that gained precious knowledge of Working Equitation. More tools for their toolbox!

A great BIG thank you for our professional international clinician, Lise LeBlanc, for creating a fun experience - and for travelling from afar!

Our Cochrane Chapter members and friends had another fabulous weekend of Working Eq fun!
The Saturday evening presentation by Pam Vust was very engaging and informative. Her knowledge, experience and insight as both a WE competitor and judge is so valuable!
And the Sunday WE Ease of Handling clinic - 🎃 Halloween style 🎃 - with clinician Deb Erickson was an excellent opportunity for horses + riders to hone their skills on a fun and challenging course.
It was the perfect weekend to wrap up the season before the snow arrived! ❄️
Many, many thank yous go out to Pam, Deb, Highland Stable staff for helping WE Cochrane Chapter put on this event and to the riders and their amazing steeds for coming to participate!
