******WARNING****** emotional post…
I cried for you today. Five innocent lives were found on the side of a busy highway 10 today.. pit puppies apx 6 weeks old. 4 white with some black, one black with some white.. 1 male, 4 females… Cast aside in the most careless way as if the evening trash. Found huddled together in a bunch near a tote as if they were thrown from a moving vehicle. Together as they were in life, so they are in death, having comfort in each other’s presence to the very end .. at least I hope. You cared enough to poke holes in the tote lid, you cared enough to include a purple blanket, but didn’t care enough to come another mile and half to the shelter.. Sadly no one survived, found by a motorist who, like myself, is beside herself with grief as she came upon this horrific scene. All Apx 6 weeks old, appeared in good body condition..one found suckling the foot of it’s sibling, hopefully finding some comfort in the bitter cold. Found only feet from the discarded tote – in a huddled bunch. Sadly help arrived too late. I cried for you all today, and for the careless act of complete lack of human compassion. Mahatma Gandhi, said, "The true measure of any society can be found in how it treats its most vulnerable members" To the “owners” of these precious souls, I hope you can learn to be worthy of the unconditional love ALL animals can give. I worry for the mother who worked so hard to care and nourish her young – does she know love?
