Let me talk about Customers and Customer Service today! I have been in Customer Service since I started working at the age of 15. I am ready and willing to help with almost anything. The one thing I can say is that it is rare that I get customers who are rude to the point that I ask they not come back. As most responsible customers know, when you’re an appointment (dog or human) that you’re planning to be there either at that time, may get there early, or sometimes things happen that cause you to be late. Again, most customers know that if you are going to be late that you give a call and let the person you made an appointment with aware and not guessing what could happen or put you in the unreliable category. So I get a customer who continuously makes appointments but does a no show. Call them, let them know of the appointment that they have missed let them know to call back to reschedule. The second time, A knowledgeable person would ask “What is the best day for you? What about days off?” so the appointment can be booked to better convenient you and you wouldn’t miss it. Even trying to book for a later time if possible or earlier if needed and available. I understand if you take public transportation or taxi ect. but when you show up an hour later then the time the person doing the services said was available to still take you then you can not get upset when you are turned away. This customer I had was rude and childish. Knocked my cards onto the floor in protest, told me I was unprofessional that I would tell them to come for their appointment and them tell them I can’t do the services. Standard grooming services for a Full Service Groom is regularly 3 to 4 hours. I have a life as well and yes we have to be flexible but there are circumstances. These ordeals make us look bad because of customers who decide to throw tantrums. Yes, the customer is usually right. In these kinds of instances no. Please make sure you and you service provider keep in contact on timing so things like this do not happen and good people like myself don’t quit or lose their jobs because of simple misunderstandings/miscommunications/ ect. like this.
