Calling all young artists! 🎨 Applications for the 2026 Calgary Stampede Poster Competition are now open for Alberta residents aged 15-24. All non-digital 2D mediums are welcome and no formal art background is required.

Artists will also have the chance to compete for scholarships and the opportunity to design the 2026 Calgary Stampede poster. Alongside the competition, participants gain valuable experience through free masterclasses and mentorship opportunities.

Please welcome Margaret Holloway as your 2024 Calgary Stampede First Nations Princess.

Margaret is a 22-year-old woman from Stoney Nakoda First Nation. Raised in the traditional ways of the Stoney values and culture, Margaret is the granddaughter of long time and respected Elders and Tipi Holders, Eddie and Elsie Holloway of Tipi 24, and is also a cultural ambassador of the Calgary Stampede Elbow River Camp. She is a Jingle Dress dancer with a love to share her dance and a passion to create and design her own regalia and beadwork.

Margaret is a devoted student who has recently started her university business study. As the 2024 Calgary Stampede First Nations Princess she is committed to sharing her culture to future generations. Margaret wants to be a strong voice for Indigenous youth, where she can help advance her community and preserve the traditional way of life. Margaret will continue to advocate for Elbow River Camp and share her traditional upbringing and deep-rooted connections to the Calgary Stampede. Congratulations Margaret!
