What an incredible day surrounded by well behaved doggos and wonderful rescue friends! I’m so proud of how well the dogs did in a busy environment filled with kids and a lot of other dogs, and even more proud of their fosters who work so hard to help set them up for success!!

It’s a big day for our buddy Oliver as he enters the last stretch of his heartworm treatment, receiving his heartworm injections today! Please send some healing vibes to our senior buddy!

Oliver is around 8 years old, the perfect size at around 40 pounds, and is the absolute sweetest and happiest senior guy. He has met people of all ages and has won them all over with his sweet and calm demeanor. He gets along well with cats and dogs. He is crate trained, potty trained, and just an all around easy going guy. He enjoys his walks, but loves a good nap and couch cuddle just as much. He’s well mannered at home and on outings, and knows his basic commands.

He is participating in our bark and heal program and is such a happy and calming presence for the kids in the program. He absolutely loves working with them and brings them so much joy!

Meet our newest buddy, Sammy, who joined BB over the weekend!

Sammy was brought to our attention from a foster friend who also does volunteer work at CMACC. I was really hesitant to open intake with our recent tragedies, but our dedicated team has helped keep this rescue going and I’m so grateful for that!

So many of our Billie’s Buddies fosters are also involved with our local shelter, , in some capacity. We highly encourage walking the dogs, doing staycations, and even fostering directly with the shelter if we are unable to support at that very moment. We also love hosting CMACC dogs at all of our events, hoping to help give them a chance at finding their forever as well.

Sammy will be adoptable soon, and swipe to see a few of our other CMACC buddies currently with us!

Ways to get involved at CMACC:

🐾Daycation - single day outing - great for capturing photos and behavior notes
🐾Staycation - 3-5 day shelter break
🐾ACC Foster - fostering through the shelter program
🐾Volunteer - go through their volunteer process to have direct access to help walk and care for the dogs at the shelter. *this is not required for the first three options!

This past weekend continued our whirlwind of emotions.

BB Chipmunk couldn’t overcome the viruses attacking his little body. Another crushing loss during an already heartbreaking month. We are incredibly happy that his siblings Raven, Moose; and Otter were able to go home and continue to be healthy, however, Badger remained hospitalized through the weekend in rough shape. We finished the weekend strong with Badger moving to outpatient care, receiving round-the-clock care from an amazing foster.

It’s been hard to look to the future and think positively when you feel like you’re failing, even with so many factors out of our control. However, in a hard few weeks of multiple losses and medical hits, I’ve been reminded of a few things. This rescue community is unmatched, continuously showing up for the dogs and for one another, and together we make the best kind of impact.

I’m proud of this little rescue. We do everything we can and consider every circumstance to make sure every buddy has a fair chance at life, sticking together through it all.

I think we could all use some feel Good Friday vibes.

Mama Ocean’s 8 puppies are doing wonderfully, including the runt, Puddles, who we feared wouldn’t make it. As you can see, they were more interested in a nap than their 3 week old photos 😝 These little buddies will be ready to go to their forever homes when they turn 8 weeks old May 19!

Unfortunately it was another rough 24 hours for the buddies. A separate litter, our little forest critters, started showing us questionable symptoms. Last night Badger tested positive for parvo, and this morning Chipmunk did as well. Otter, moose, and raven are negative, but we are keeping them hospitalized overnight to be safe.

While they’re a separate litter than the rainbow crew who never interacted with one another, they all came from the same shelter where conditions and the way the animals are handled are unknown.

We’ll continue to fight for you, little buddies 🙏🏼

While they weren’t able to overcome the viruses that took over their little bodies, we know they are now comfortable and back together again 🌈❤️‍🩹

Thank you to everyone who supported this litter, allowing us to right as hard as we could and gave them comfort and love in their short stay with us.

It’s been an emotional rollercoaster of a week with our parvo pups. Every case of parvovirus is different. Some recover quickly. Some slowly. Some don’t decline till a week later.

These 7 have had a tough go, battling other viruses on top of parvo, seeming stable one moment and crashing the next. We are so sad to say that 4 little bbs have crossed the rainbow bridge. The surviving 3, Greeney, Bluey, and Violet, had a great day and were able to come home, however Greeney recently crashed and was rushed to the emergency vet where she is being hospitalized.

We are keeping them comfortable and trusting our vets to help make sure they’re getting what they need and aren’t suffering. They’re not close to being out of the woods yet, and we will keep fighting for our little rainbow that’s left 🌈 thank you so much to everyone who has donated to their care.

The morning of our last transport, I was shown a litter of 9 puppies whose time was up, and thanks to an equally crazy friend, we added them to our intake hoping for the best.

7 puppies arrived in rough shape. Our little rainbow crew. They tested positive with parvo and have been hospitalized since.

Every parvo case is different. Some recover quickly. Some ebb and flow. We’re giving them everything they need to have a fighting chance at life.

Meet Ellie!

This 3 month old is such a sweet girl that has endless energy. She loves playing with her foster brother and never seems to tire out. She would do best in a home where she is taken out for lots of walks/runs/play time.

She is a smart girl that is very food driven. She was able to learn sit in just one day and knows she can sit to get whatever she wants 😜

She loves carrying around items in her mouth, especially sticks. She is also starting to find her voice and become talkative while playing. She has quite the personality!

She sleeps in her crate and does well in the crate during the day as long as you are close by. She is still working on potty training, but has been improving each day. She is about 90% potty trained currently.

We don’t know her breeding though she has a bobtail and we expect her to be at least medium in size full grown.

BB Juniper got adopted before we could share her cuteness 😍

We pulled this sweet girl with the help of after her sister got adopted and she was left behind (peep last photo). She had a wicked upper respiratory infection and was really nervous once separated from her sister. But multiple vet visits and a whole lot of confidence building later and this girl was ready for her perfect family!
