Thinking about the baddest good boy there ever was today- Jasper! He was an enormous Weimaraner I got in college before I knew about canine nutrition and truly responsible pet care. I prided myself on feeding him Iam’s because that was considered premium back then 🤦‍♀️ When I began to study proper dog nutrition I bawled my eyes out thinking of him 😭
He lived to 14, twice the age the vet predicted, but I can’t help but wonder how long he could have made it with the proper diet. Part of the reason his life expectancy was so short was that he liked to injest anything he came across. Here are some of the craziest things he ate-
- my roommate’s underpants
- rat poison my landlord had put out
- an entire bucket of fried chicken
- a frozen solid Cornish hen
- a box of grits
- my aunt’s blackberry cake
- hot grease dripping from the grill
- an entire bottle of fish oil capsules
And that’s just the Greatest Hits Vol.1. Before you give me the side eye, please understand that Jasper was a highly intelligent dog who always found a way to outsmart my efforts to secure him from getting into trouble.

Make your pup a cup of cheer!
DOG NOG RECIPE
1 egg yolk, beaten
1 cup Primal Pet Food Raw Goat’s Milk
1/2 cup pumpkin puree or try the pumpkin flavor goat milk
• Blend until frothy. Serve immediately in a dish (portion according to dog's weight), dribble onto kibble or freeze into cubes for safe and convenient storage! Our favorite way to serve is to freeze onto a licky mat for an enriching and nourishing treat!
