For future reference to all of my fellow cowboy/cowgirls, Cowpunchers, c**t starters... didn't know this until just a bit ago on the way to Tampa, you can not have your ropes or "Lasos" 😂 in your carry on suitcase when flying. Don't worry about spurs they don't care about those pokie things, just the ropes lol. You will be turned back to check in your bag and then go through security again. Yes I learned this the hard way, if you already knew this then great. If not now you know lol... haha whoops 🤷‍♂️

This past year has thrown a lot at us. Good, not so good, rough times and fun times. All of that is just life though.

As long as you continue to have the ones who truly love you and support you in your corner and you don't quit you can do anything.

Let your horse be curious, let him think for himself and use his brain. Instead of constantly trying to tell him it's your way or the highway- put them in a position that will intrigue them.

Take a step back and study them, learn from them. Often times they'll teach us more than we can or will ever teach them.

Our position in their lives is to simply lead them to be good citizens of society that's essentially "to our human standards" and ultimately become life long partners that offers a good deal for both.

Feel the horse. Move with them and let them move with you, like a dance. For the rithum and proper tempo to happen you have to be able to feel each other. That requires clear communication and understanding of what's being asked and what's being understood.

To have clear communication with your horse sometimes requires the need for you to slow down. Not necessarily slowing the horse down but slowing yourself down, because once you pump the breaks on yourself your horse will match you.

The horse does not understand anxiety and built up energy because that energy is what sends them off to protect themselves. The horse is a creature of beauty and understands black and white signals, and has no awareness of what time is.

Enjoy your horse, work on letting go of built up energy so your horse can enjoy you as well. It's truly glamorous when it all comes together, just you and the horse riding on that feel.

We are planning another trip out to WNC. To help groups with recovery, house clearing and supply delivery. As of now the need for horses is getting less and less but there is a possibility that Darla could still be coming along I will know hopefully this evening. If not she will continue to enjoy some much needed time off.

Families are still in desperate need of help and the volunteers are beginning to grow weary. I plan to leave tomorrow/Thursday, hopefully linking up with an old military buddy of mine to help with recovery.

These are sad times, times that call for unity. Florida is about to get run over by Hurricane Milton and our Project Dynamo team is in our thoughts and prayers as most of them live in the Tampa area.

These times of devastation and destruction is an opportunity for us all to come together and help one another. " Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." Mathew 22:37-39. Every situation presents an opportunity, and these situations lately present the opportunity to come together and help one another.

From the mountains of WNC to a clinic in south eastern NC.

It was an honor to join up with team Project Dynamo and their fellow riders. Western North Carolina is completely devastated and will take a long time to recover. The need for recovery will continue, the need for supplies will continue for a very very long time. With that said there is a solid chance that we will head back to aid in SAR, recovery and supply delivery once given proper direction.

Saturday and Sunday we had our clinic and we are beyond grateful for the people and participants who showed up. Many results happened and everyone walked away better than they where at the beginning.

This past week has been taxing to say the least. none of this would have been possible without the support of many of you. Big thank you to the queen Giovanna for supporting everything and really holding it down, your support and love keeps me going and Darla 😉. Big thank you to Renee Benton Horne for hosting such a great place for us to do the clinic and all of your help as well.

I do have to give a lot of credit to my horse Darla as well. She is a young Mustang mare who I started only 4.5 months ago and all week she did not skip a beat. She stayed loyal, honest and worked her butt off. Everything asked of her she willingly did it, she is an amazing partner to have. The drive, the ride the scenery is not for the faint of heart and is not a leisurely time. It requires a lot of grit and trust for horse and rider. We are truly blessed and thankful for our Darla Mae.

Hope everyone has a great week, keep the WNC in your prayers and now Florida as they are about to get smacked by hurricane Milton.

We’re still doing the clinic this weekend!

Tyler and Darla will be coming back for the weekend to teach at the clinic and then will be going back to the mountains to continue to help.
Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers along with all the families affected by Helene.

Happy 1 year Whiskey boy! The things we have done and accomplished has been more than i could have imagined. Being apart of your development has been a true honor. Thank you Courtney for allowing us to work with your million dollar baby and be apart of his journey in life. Not only has Whiskey developed into a fine horse but I do believe he's helped me develop for the better as well in so many ways. It's hard to not get attached sometimes especially when you've worked with a horse for so long and develop a bond. Whiskey will always have a special mark on our entire family. Again thank you Courtney it's really a blessing to continue to work for you, with you and your family as well. Stay blessed and enjoy the ride 🤠

Don't forget to go back to the basics with your horses! Refresh them, show them and continue to be consistent in the delivery, leadership and partnership. It's a journey, not a race. Hope yall are enjoying your weekend! Stay blessed and enjoy the ride 🤠

Lucy put her big girl pants on the other day and was saddled the other day for the first time. Remember it's not a race, it's the journey and the positive experience/reinforcement that you can provide them. Lucy is coming along well and at her own pace. Much like us we're all different and require a different or slower approach than others. That does not mean that there's a handicap, or one is smarter than the other. It just means one requires more patience and more practice than others. Stay blessed and enjoy the ride 🤠
