Most people’s kids drag sticks into the house… but when you’re a flower farmer, you’re the one tracking in the sticks 😂 These beauties are grapevine wreath bases made from vines, all ready for our upcoming holiday wreath workshop December 2nd!

Grab your bestie and snag your spot before Sunday to learn how to make your own one-of-a-kind wreath for the season. We still have a few spots left!

What’s included?
• A wreath-making demo
• A bow-making demo
• Delicious juices + snacks crafted by the talented Brooke
• A super cute photo-op setup with festive trees inside

It’s going to be an unforgettable (and very cozy) evening learning a fun holiday skill with friends. Don’t miss it! 🎄✨

🥔 Here’s a quick guide to dividing dahlia tubers! Dividing dahlia tubers can be intimidating the first couple of years but as you get the hang of it, you will speed through confidently.

🌸 Not everyone needs to dig and divide their dahlias. I do so because I want to multiply my own stock and have a tuber sale in the spring to sell my extras.

☀️ If you’re in a warmer growing zone like myself and your dahlias are planted in an area with good drainage, you can simply cut back the stock after your first frost in the fall and apply a good layer of mulch around them. They should come back beautifully for you next year.

Still plugging along over here, getting the farm (and myself) ready for a winter rest. We’re SO ready for the holidays 🎄— but there’s still work to do first!

Here Finn and I are finishing flipping this bed today. Aka out with the old, in with the new! This one will hold my earliest succession of summer crops next year of zinnias, marigolds, and celosia.

Instead of leaving the soil bare all winter, we sow cover crops wherever we can. They help with w**d suppression, feed soil microbes, and add organic matter for spring planting.

Steps we took to prep this bed:
✨ Removed old crops and large w**ds
✨ Moved drip tape
✨ Added compost + gypsum
✨ Sowed cover crop (triticale, peas, oats, and phacelia)
