The 2024 AMTC National Specialty will have a designated Rally & Obedience day at the Orlando cluster on Thursday Dec 12, 2024. Rosettes will be provided for all qualifiers, new title earners, plus additional trophies for high in class for ALL Obedience & Rally classes at the trial put on by the Orlando Dog Training Club. Lane county peeps.

To ALL LANE COUNTY RESIDENTS AND THOSE THAT ENJOY THE LANE EVENTS CENTER.

The attached photo has information pertaining to the proposed new baseball stadium for the PRIVATELY OWNED Franchise. The construction proposal includes demolition of the Livestock Building that we use for agility. Many other events are also held in this lovely building.

The Ems owner has been advertising heavily and falsely stating that the Livestock Arena is a decrepit old building that needs to come down anyway. This is simply not true. In fact, it is the YOUNGEST building on the entire Fairgrounds.

Elmore Sports Group is a for-profit Corporation, and yet, they are seeking public funds to help pay for their seasonal facility. There is a measure on the ballot seeking public approval for funding for this stadium. Those of us who use the Livestock Arena implore you to PLEASE VOTE NO!

Imagine the traffic in your small neighborhoods. What will happen to the Lane County Fair? What about all the 4-H programs? Where will livestock be housed during fire season? What about all the small businesses that rent the Livestock Arena to hold their events? Do we not matter? Is it only about the success of Corporations? Why can't they build their stadium in a location that doesn't affect us small businesses? Why do they have to take away from so many just to fill it with more commercial entities? And why do they need TAXPAYER FUNDS?

THERE HAS TO BE A MORE SUITABLE LOCATION FOR THEM TO BUILD.

Recieved this text last night. It just makes my heart sing! 🥰🥰

I took the puppies camping because I knew they were going to active families and I’ve found the trailer movement to be challenging for older dogs to get used to. I also wanted them to see the beach and water and have a longer car ride.

It was a lot of work and I had a lot of help from friends, but it was such a success and gave them just another incredible experience that helped them be great dogs.

GREAT JOB BHA!!!

If you haven’t been filled in an individual who judges AKC juniors was arrested on very disturbing charges related to child po*******hy.

The US Center for SafeSport provides training programs and certifications which are required for individuals (coaches and judges) for sports organizations affiliated with the Olympics, but other organizations as well and BHA has been added to the list. I hope I summarized that correctly, I’m still learning. However anyone can take the non-affiliated version of the class.

I am about halfway through and the content is very good. Similar to what I learned when I trained to be a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate). The cost was $20 and it takes about 90 minutes.

Certification does not equal safe, but it is an educational step that creates awareness which leads to safer environments.

Kids are the future of all things, including dog sports. Let’s do everything we can to empower them & ourselves with knowledge and keep them safe!

I am pleased and proud to announce that the Barn Hunt Association, LLC is partnering with U.S. Center for SafeSport. The U.S. Center for SafeSport is an independent nonprofit "committed to building a sport community where participants can work and learn together free of emotional, physical and sexual abuse and misconduct."

We will be implementing SafeSport in two areas.

First, all Barn Hunt Judges (and I as well) will be required to be SafeSport certified. The BHA is providing these certifications at no cost to Judges, and further information will be available soon in the Judge forum at barnhuntforums.com.

Second, all Juniors enrolled in our Juniors program will receive an enrollment key to take the free courses offered by SafeSport specifically for younger competitors.

As a family friendly, inclusive, gateway sport, we always want to make sure our competitors, especially our Junior competitors, are safe. SafeSport will help us in that goal. While I know of no issues at all within the Barn Hunt community, we will be prepared in case of such an occurrence.

We did a try run for tornado preparedness this week when the first storms passed through NE Oklahoma since we moved here in December.

The dogs thought it was a little strange, but they have so much experience doing weird and strange things, this was just another to add to their resume.

Needed skills: crate training, relaxing in small spaces, getting/out of novel environments (bathtub), following instructions. ✅

My dogs have many flaws, but they sure know how to adapt!

My best gal pal, mother of monsters and the dog to whom I am an emotional support human had 7 teeth extracted today, including a surprise abcessed tooth (in addition to the one we knew about).

Poor girlie. But she is out of surgery & doing well and I will pick her up this afternoon.
