Phoenix turned 3 years old today and what a gift to be taught how to be collected for the first time! He had an oops on the first attempt (no injuries, except his ego as we all laughed quite a bit), but he figured it out in less than 30 minutes with great results!

Phoenix has been color tested by UC Davis as sorrel. However, his sire Metallic Cattack is consistently siring foals with a lot of white, such as Phoenix has. Just a few days to his 2nd birthday. Phoenix enjoying his breakfast with the other c**ts, being dirty, growing up, and just being a horse right now. That’s going to change in a couple weeks as I get ready to start him under saddle.

Such a good looking boy for just turning 2 years old! His real birthday isn’t until May 22, so technically he’s not even 2 yet. Another month and a half to go. I always take this into consideration when planning to start them under saddle, so he’s still very much enjoying being a baby with the other babies out in the pasture. 😉
