The Crumble video following on from my previous post. Love her!
Some of you may remember little Crumble who I started working with a few months back, who's owner needed some help in getting her back to the happy pony she once was.
When I started riding Crumble, she had a real bucking problem.. I couldn't put my leg on, steer or even click with my voice without it being a trigger for her bucks.
Once we got over the initial problem, we still couldn't canter for a long time- she said no way!
It goes without saying that she was obviously checked over by professionals, but it turned out to be a huge confidence knock for the pony, so was a mental block rather than physical. It has taken a long time, and lots of set backs but I am so happy with the pony she is nowadays.
We now can enjoy going for a good leg stretch along the stubble, and we even got to enjoy a run ride together last week!
She is such a pleasure, I always enjoy riding her 🩷
( will attach some videos in a separate post!)
Love a before and after comparison 🤌
Working with what I had here, as both boys had been living the life out in the field and had clearly enjoyed rubbing some mane out!
Pesky stuff! But rather satisfying to pull 🤔
Show prep done for a dressage competition at the weekend.
Even when I'm off the clock, I'm still at it!
A few photos of yard covers and jobs recently 🤍
It just shows the variety I do in each day, which is why I love my job so much!
DD taking her role of yard dog VERY seriously the last few weeks 🤣🤩
It's not just equines I work with!
These gorgeous boys at Potsford Farm are just the sweetest 💙
Beds, beds and more beds! 😴
I think this little man was happy with his bed 🥰
An early morning sunday plait up for a dressage competition 💙
A 'welfare' clip for this lovely boy today 🤍
I've had the pleasure of knowing this pony for a few years now, and we've had many fun hacks together!
He gets a right sweat on, so he had a full body clip. He also suffers with itchy, scabby legs... we attempted to take them off today but with no luck.
In cases like him, health and safety always comes first.
Even whilst very heavily sedated, he was still able to flick legs up and its just not worth it. Not only to protect myself, but for my equipment and also himself- we called it a day.
I will always do my absolute most for the sensitive horses and 90% of the time it surprises owners how much I am usually able to do... for example his bridle path has never been accessible until today, however I am not a miracle worker!
Good boy Fluffy, you'll feel a lot cooler regardless! 💜🩷
XC schooling last night! 🤍
Dressage competition prep 🤩
Bathed and chalked by myself and his owner, and I plaited him using scallop braids.
I think he scrubs up rather well! 🤩
Lovely comment from the judge too about his turnout!
Off for a spot of dressage!
DD is finding out the downsides of being a yard dog... getting covered in p**p= bath time! 🤣😍
3 yards completed this morning by 9.30am 💪.
Started off with a new yard for some cover for a lovely stallion and gelding. Then onto 2 regular yards for 5 more horses and 4 donkeys!
Poo picking clear out 💪✅️
This client wasn't able to poo pick for a little while due to an op, so I booked a slot in to clear the field- how satisfying!
Of course I had my little helper too 🐶
Drop your guesses below of how many wheelbarrows full it took me to clear this? 🙈🤔
I've been a bit quiet on here recently, so have a photo dump of life lately to make up for it!!
I recently welcomed my little pup into the team and she has been taking to her role as yard doggo- so a few of you may see her out and about soon enough!
The last few weeks have included pet sitting, walking, lunging, hacking, cuddles, other animals including goats and of course as always... lots of p**p!
I am still potentially taking on new bookings for holiday cover etc, however I'm afraid I am fully booked for regular yard work.
Thank you all for keeping me so hectic! 🤩
Something a bit different today, grooming for and riding a friends horse at a show 🤍
Last night I attended the Ryder Davies client evening which covered the topics of previous purchase exams (vettings), insurance and end of life for horses.
It was a very interesting evening and I learnt a lot. I always like to gain extra knowledge to help me with my clients where possible 🐴
I am now home from my holiday and back in action!
Had 2 super lessons on these boys today, I really enjoy carrying on my training as even though I do this for my living, I learn new things every time!
Hi everyone 🐴
After a hectic few weeks, I am now off on holiday until the 19th. Any enquiries or bookings will be replied to when I am back.
See you soon! 😎
This youngster had a fresh clip today, isn't he stunning 🤩.
I started off with a high Irish clip to see how he was, and then as he was OK I whipped the lot off!
He is a sensitive boy, so it did take me a while to do with lots of cuddle breaks. As well as this, it isn't the neatest clip- however it will stop him sweating from just standing in the field!
A hack in the sunshine for KK today too 🩷
It's been a day for leg clipping!
I took Mali's off today just to give him a more sportier look... in perfect time for our XC outing this week.
What a smart boy!
Sweet Coco had her legs clipped off today to help stay on top of previous feather mites. Thankfully her legs were looking very nice under all the feathers, but we wouldn't have known that without clipping!

A full clip for Thomas the other day. What a handsome boy!
This sweet boy I have in for the next few months while his owner is out of action- although I've said she may not get him back 😅🤣.
He is such a cool boy, such a bold 4 year old!
**Please read this description before judging my clipping skills!!!**
I received a message from this lovely boy's owner yesterday saying how she had tried to clip him herself using dog clippers and it had gone terribly wrong!
I slotted him in this evening to see what I could do 🙏
Unfortunately the majority of his initial clip was down to the skin (think of a surgery level blade!) So I wasn't able to get everything matching completely as there wasn't much hair left to work with.
The First 3 photos are of the before.. and the rest are of after.
Not a perfect result by any means, and much shorter than I'd ever usually clip a horse out- but at least it can grow out evenly now!
The positive of this situation is his skin conditions will be a lot easier to assess and treat, as there is no hair to cover any blemishes and makes applying creams etc a lot easier!
If anyone is ever in doubt... I promise paying a professional clipper will be worth every penny to save yourself situations like this!

Today I also had this boy booked in for his first session with me 🩷 I was warned about his potential quirks in advance which i always appreciate, but he was a very good boy and we were lucky enough to have the sun shining 🥰 #freelancegroom #exersise #hacking #thoroughbred
So proud of these two today! I'm very lucky to work with each of these guys multiple times each week for various reasons... and while they are by no means 'problem' horses, they each certainly have their little quirks! I was so pleased that today they both felt confident and secure enough to allow me to ride and lead them together and we had a lovely ride the 3 of us 🥰 I'm so glad that they get on so well ( both are quite outgoing personalities so a lot of other horses don't get along with them as they're too much!!) They were able to reassure each other, as well as have a few cheeky smooches along the way too! Now I have a way of exercising both at once for any days short on time ✔️ #freelancegroom #hacking #exersise
Happy little Crumble who was brilliant on our hack this morning 🥰 She's slowly letting her guard down which initially she had a very defensive barrier up, resulting from mainly a lack of confidence in herself as well as people. She's gradually moving away from all of her defensive behaviours and is starting to show her true cheeky, forward and happy character 🩷
Winter is hard for all us horsey people, especially those of us who work full time with them alongside our own... but mornings like this sure make it all worth it 🍁🤍 #freelancegroom #exersise #hacking
I like to think they greet me like this when I look after them because they love me... not because they see me as their dinner lady!! 🤣🤣 #freelancegroom #holidaycover
Satisfying snippets from my clips this afternoon- using my Masterclip Clippers Hunters, and Liveryman Harmony Plus ✅️ #freelancegroom
Couldn't finish the evening without giving this big girl some belly scratches 🥰🐴 #freelancegroom #percheron
