1st day using the ‘wellness tub!’ No ice yet, just cold hose water/thunderstorm rain! Cold enough for this beginner! I could only stay under to my neck for 2 minutes! 🥶 I wonder how long it will take me to get to the full ice plunge?

I’ll just leave these photos here for viewing fun!….these “glasses” are ridiculously awesome! I’m not sure how much UV they actually block, but the giggles while wearing make them worth it! 😝❤️‍🩹now I just have to figure out the fogging issue when wearing my sun protection shirt!! lol

Someday’s are harder than others. Waking to find what the day and your body has in store for you, is a new ‘adventure’ some of us get forced to take. Day by day with an invisible illness is a task. You battle your bodies abilities, the environment-sun use to be my friend, now sworn enemy! Foods that taste so good and eaten your entire life, can now take away your ability to do anything for days on end without warning. It silently robs the life you once knew and worked so hard for….relearning a new modified version of oneself, isn’t for the faint of heart-disability caused by autoimmune diseases is a lonely battle, fought by so many, and with little modern medicine help or at least in NL, up to date knowledge. Why can’t Drs Treat the body as a whole!!! Right from the mouth to your toes! It’s a connected unit…and every past and present exposure also needs to be taken into account-from chemical exposure, environment-physical/emotional/mental, etc. It ALL needs to be a part of the equation for overall health! Not this BS, healthcare system IN 🇨🇦
The shame and stress associated with not being able to be reliable for work or family/friends is also not talked about enough… the snarky passive aggressive remarks about missed time at work, another family event you can’t attend- when they know nothing about your struggles.
The pain and hurt is real for a lot of us silently trying to get better. ❤️‍🩹

This ladies speech hits home for me and my current situation.
When the pandemic hit in 2020, I was already trying to work through many mobility issues, & hidden illness’ with a medical team, the pandemic just exacerbated everything and I was forced into ‘Early retirement’ from a career I love and have wanted to be since junior high!
Coming from a very career oriented family, I had no idea who I was as a person without my career! That type of thinking/perspective left me feeling lost and with no purpose.
The fight still continues; (consistently losing faith in NL healthcare system-that’s for another time!)
but my perspective has changed, my view of the world and how I show up in it each day, has drastically changed from my childhood conditioning!
This lady sums it up beautifully!
We’re human-beings first, not human-doing! ❤️‍🩹💪
