One of the first questions I get at a meet and greet is how do the dogs travel safely. As safety of the dogs is our number 1 priority
here it is, custom made crates, crash tested and with escape doors to the rear and compression locks to the front doors for added safety.
Rubber non slip flooring for hygiene and for the non chewers comfy soft vet bed to lie on and Fully air coditioned.
All dogs get offered a drink after the walk and a wash and towel down if necessary. What more can a pooch want! 🐕🐾😉

Well, that's the end of a fairly challenging week at Doggies Walking Service made more difficult by having to use a car instead of my trusty van for part of it. All the dogs and myself were walked safely and they still enjoyed it😍🐾🐕 Thankyou to all my clients for your understanding and patience, Back to normal temperatures next week and hopefully my van.🤞

Well here it is, 4 custom fitted crates with escape doors at the rear and compression locks to the front. Crash tested with rubber flooring for hygiene. For the non chewers cosy vet bed on top. A jump board to help the less agile pups as well.

Adder season is approaching and as these snakes start to come out of hibernation they are generally more active in spring and early summer, we have a few different species of snakes in the UK but the Adder is the only one that is poisonous and could be harmful to your dog.
They are more likely to be bitten if they come across one of these as they come out of hibernation as they are hungry and the venom is at its most potent after their long sleep. Adding bells to your dogs collar is a good way to give the snakes chance to move as they will pick up on the vibrations before the dog gets too close. Bites are normally only self defence but unfortunately curious dogs or dogs running through the woodland and accidently stepping one one of these snakes are likely to be snapped at.
Bites normally occur on the dogs face or legs and it's pretty obvious as the area will tend to swell up and you may even see two puncture wounds. This can become severe if your dog has an allergic reaction to the bite and could result in breathing problems.
Should your dog get bitten it is very important that you get your dog to the vets straight away and if possible ring in advance to let them know you are bringing your dog in with a suspected Adder bite.
Try to stay calm as your dog will pick up on you panicking and where possible carry your dog to stop the venom from spreading.
Do not attempt any first aid as this could do more harm than good although you can use cold water to bathe the wound and control the swelling if you have some to hand.
Keep your dog warm ( not too warm ) and quiet staying calm is so important.

If left untreated dogs may collapse, have blood clotting problems, tremors or convulsions

Other symptoms may include
Lameness
Bleeding and bruising
The dog howling in pain
pale gums, drooling, vomiting, diarrhoea, dehydration, restlessness, drowsiness, and lethargy.

The severity of the bite depends on the size of the dog, the location of the bite and the amount of venom injected.
