A mother patiently stands guard, for her children, helpless to the cruelty their so called owner inflicts on them daily.

What goes through her mind? Does she long for when they will have water to drink or shelter from the blazing sun? Does she worry whether her pups will ever know the feeling of grass or the gentle touch of a human hand?

Some humans don’t always realize the cruelty they inflict. The affect they have on the innocent sentient beings when they are caged or deprived of water. The horrible cage not even cleaned. Daily suffering to innocent beings.

These dogs were rescued by us, but they are a drop in the ocean of the ones still chained and locked up. Suffering daily.

We as humans have a responsibility to care for those that cannot care for themselves. Do your part and report cruelty. One phone call can make all the difference.

We are far from out of the trenches. In fact, we are actually now in the worst of it.
We had permission (verbal) from old landlord to keep some of the dogs on the old property, with Mike still there, for about a week. The agreement was that we would pay R3000 in total for them, for the week. But unfortunately he decided to change the agreement and we had to move 6 dogs into boarding, very short notice. I was moving dogs all night on Monday, until 4:15, due to insane short notice. Thank you to Vince and Adrienne who assisted earlier the evening. Ben’s boarding has to be extended and the 14 dogs we couldn’t find any space for anywhere, that is still on the old property, we now have to pay R1000 per day they are there. These sudden unforseen costs are eating our funds. We still need 15 panels and have received no assistance towards this. So everything is standing, while we have 14 dogs waiting at the old property, at R1000 per day. We have a dog in every single room, with a door, at the new property and getting them out for toilet and a walk is taking up time that is just not available at this moment. We have 7 dogs in boarding, at R1120 per day. So basically the total boarding per day is R1000 plus R1120. It’s busy killing us!

Very few dogs received sponsorship. I think it’s like 5 or 6. Mike’s salary is still due. Food will be finished tomorrow. Everyone always asks the rescues to help. But the rescues really do need your help, to be able to exist or help.

Our fundraising events…. That cash is going straight into boarding and keeping the peace. And no, we don’t want to waste energy on a battle to try prove he said, I said. We need to move all the dogs, without incident and as quickly as possible. I have honestly never been as tired as I am right now. I cannot risk having any unnecessary drama and risk the safety of any of the dogs in the process. All my energy should be focused on getting them moved and then building them a real and lovely home.

We really do need dogs sponsored.
We really do need panels sponsored.
We need donations of concrete mix.
We need food.
We just really need a lifeline here. Every day everything hangs, dogs sit in boarding and we pay the boarding. We have only 5 days left where some of the dogs can be at the old property. And then where to from there? 😞

My breed is often feared and so often judged.
I am left on a chain because of your fear or your ignorance.
Yet I am still just a simple dog that needs food like anyone else.
Needs water just like everyone else.
Needs attention just like everyone else.
Needs love just like everyone else.
I was removed from a home without any love.
Without regular food or water.
And for once I hope I can be just a normal dog like everyone else.

Just so stressed right now….
Did I make a massive mistake to grab the perfect property with both hands? There really is no turning back at this point.
Our potjie competition cannot happen until later. The rugby games turned out to be a big blocker. A successful potjie was going to be our big money maker.
I just don’t know how else to come up with at least another R200k for NOW, to just get all these dogs safe at their new home, in 4 weeks. The reality has knocked me dead centre between the eyes that I lived 6 years of hell, to keep them safe and to finally get them, just to have to let them go, because in my effort to finally give them the life they deserve, I couldn’t deliver on this promise.

Are there any companies out there, willing to part with say R5000 or R10 000, to help me not fail them now, after everything? I unfortunately cannot supply a Section 18A. I have an auditor who submitted for me. But we are waiting and I don’t even know where or if I can check if the submission was received and where the process is currently. I don’t even know where or if I can get a letter to prove submission. The only thing I can offer is to put your company signage up as a sponsor of a yard. One yard is around R19 000 to complete. We have 40 dogs to immediately accommodate.

It’s hard to try make sense of how it was so easy to raise funds and come up with materials to move them when I could safely get them into my home yard in 2021, when a mad person had all legal rights on them. But now it is so hard. It’s difficult to try understand why evil intentions seem to have it easy to manipulate, exploit, abuse and get away with it.

I can only hope and pray that this is not the end, after everything. In 27 days we have to move. We only have enough funds to cover the concrete work. We don’t have ANYTHING for the Clearview that is needed. And no, cheaper options will not work with this breed. They will get to each other and it will end in absolute disaster.

We also need 1.2 length pallets. A lot. And we need it urgently so we can start stripping them. The pallets will be used to close up the bottom portions of the back to back yards fences, as we simply cannot even try to afford the high security Clearview. Ozzy (male Africanis/Pitbull) and Hayley (female Pitbull x Husky) need a new home 🏠 they are both 5 years old, sterilized and vaccinated. FREE TO GOOD HOME CAN KILL PETS!

Dear Sir Or Madam.

Our team was in the field yesterday attending to cases. It's faces like these who have been given away for free as they aren't wanted anymore😭

Do you KNOW how heartbreaking it is....constantly seeing abuse?
Do you KNOW how hard it is to see neglected and sick animals?
Do you KNOW that we repeat ourselves when educating and we try out BEST to make those animals comfortable?

This is what free to a good home can do.

The worst of it is....when animals are given away without homechecks, without follow ups....AND THEY ARENT STERILIZED.

Deadly combination.

They have pups and the pups usually don't make it as they become sick. The ones who DO make it just carry on having puppies and it's a never ending story for us rescuers.........the hurt, the sadness just doesn't stop.

WE CANT RESCUE THEM ALL😭

Because of YOU Sir Or Madam, you have given dogs like these a death sentence.

The layout for our new home.
(My best attempt on a phone. We can fit in 40 yards for our Sanctuary dogs in Section A).

The best price we could get so far on Clearview panels, is R833 exl. per panel. We need 175 panels. We also need cement and precast walling to build little houses for our dogs to sleep in at night. Pallets with 1.2 meter length planks are also needed. It is no small thing. It's monumental. We are hoping and praying for miracles here.

Section A is where we will have large and comfortable yards for each of our Sanctuary dogs. No more cold, hard concrete. Section B is where we will have 8 boarding kennels. Section C is where there will be 5 large play camps. The open portion between A and B and C, is where we will do on site fundraising events, such as markets.

The horses will be in the large turquoise block. The four yellow blocks next to this, is where the pairs will be, such as Cassey and Scar, Dino and Arya, Drogo and Nala and two personal dogs, Jeep and Kyra. The red blocks is for Marley, Leah, Tarzan and Ben. Purple indicates the space for the pack dogs. The orange block is a cattio.
