We’re having issues with Steele having GI bleeding again.
We’re trying conservative measures with medications and supplements right now hoping we can get control of this.
If not, we’ll have to see what aggressive measures need taken.
For now, he is in good spirits and is still prancing around and will yell at you for pizza if he sees it.
Maizlee, little bit and blue are on their way to their new homes.
I’m going to miss them very much. I hope this is their forever homes and they live a wonderful life with their new families.
Maizlee came here pregnant. Her babies all found homes except her.
Little Bit was taken from a high euth shelter just in time and has been with us a while.
And blue was actually born here from a starved dumped senior mom. He was adopted and returned due to their child having allergies. At one year old, he is the last of his litter including his mom to find a forever home.
I wanted to share some of our adoptions since January this year.
While we are not taking in anymore dogs, we are still working to find the last dogs here homes.
These aren’t in order of adoption and if I forgot you and your newest family member I am sorry and can add you in! I just was scrolling through my phone clicking on dogs that were in adoptions since January.
We have several more adoptions that are already planned for the next few weeks, and I didn’t include them in this post.

We will still be functioning as we have as a sanctuary home for many dogs. Just a lot less than a rescue also has❤️
We had six dogs leave for their new homes today and hopefully another adoption tomorrow. ❤️❤️
My heart is sore, but I am very happy for them.
Sugar. I know momma loves you but I swear I don’t remember inviting you onto my bed while you are muddy and wet and blowing your coat all over the place 🤣🤦🏻♀️

I’ve been getting a lot of dogs ready for transport so they can be adopted. Which is a huge ordeal for me. A lot of paperwork and things to fill out and vet visits, time and lots of lots of money.
Anyway, I was making a sheet of the dogs and their pictures. A few times I was scrolling through all my pictures I was like wait who is that husky? It took me a second to process who I was looking at during their healing process.
Uki, Sugar and Spice have come a long way this past year. I’m very proud of them.
There’s no way to sugar coat it, we’re broke broke.
If you have been following my personal life you’ll know that I have been down now for some time. I fractured my heel and the bone got infected. I have had a PICC line in place and been on IV antibiotics. Because of this I have been unable to navigate my daily normal chores here which as you can imagine is a lot. I owe a lot on my own medical bills... several mris, the iv meds that make me nauseous and exhausted are $3000, the admission fees, PICC fees, infusions at the hospital fees, all the random make believe fees added in by the hospital. Throughout this I have only taken a few days off my exhausting work as a resident, still working long and grueling hours.
I’ve had no choice but to pay for help to care for the dogs.
And I have been working as hard as I can to get our adoptable dogs accepted on transport.
** I will no longer be accepting new dogs into our rescue.** do not ask me. I am unable and if I was you know I would in a heartbeat save any animal or person that I could.
My efforts from here forward are to get the adoptable dogs adopted and continue to provide a sanctuary for those here that need it. Which in itself is very expensive.
I have already spent thousands trying to get these dogs ready for transport to find forever homes.
I still owe thousands for their food bills, med bills.
I’ve fallen on a very hard place and I’m mentally in a very sad place trying to organize this all by myself.
The way you can help is to help us be able to pay all these bills. If you have an extra $5 today it would be appreciated. Cut down on your ci******es and donate. Cut down on your going out to eat bill and share a desert. Maybe skip one of your Starbucks drinks. ❤️

One of my senior huskies.
She is losing her vision. She is still able to get around fine, and she is very happy. Recently she has been dealing with a skin infection. We got some meds the other day, and I think I am noticing some improvement.
I’m glad I have been able to be involved in her rescue and that she has a safe place to live out her days.
Peanut butter and Stella were playing and it was so cute. It took me so long to pull up my camera I didn’t get them side by side which would have been a great pic.
Stella is one of our ferals here. She does not let humans touch her, pet her or cuddle her. She keeps her distance. We occasionally can get her to touch our fingers if she thinks there is a treat in our hand which is about the most human interaction she tolerates.
She loves the other dogs though. And she lives a safe life here. We love her, just from a distance
When I was carrying Polly around in my purse a few people asked me if she was a real dog.
No. She is stuffed animal. Obviously. I mean, look at her. 
Polly pocket and Francine who both don’t ever respond to their names 🤣
Just had a bath and need to be brushed
Still having issues with that discoloration of the fur. If anyone has tried anything in particular that has helped. I think I need to start giving medicated baths more frequently

Axel made it out of the hospital today. This guy has been through so much and I’m happy he gets a good home.

If only all our dogs were so lucky
Update: Axel is staying the night at Wisdom Animal Clinic.
We already have a family who is wanting to adopt him. This family had known Axel before and wanted to take him in, but they didn't know if they could. Now we know that he has had a lot of trauma and neglect so it will be okay.
He was owned by an elderly man who was not containing him and Axel was running loose. Some other neighbors shot him and bragged about it. They then apparently must have dumped him. So he had been wondered for a few weeks.
You can see the fragments of the bullets in him in these Xrays. He also was shot or somehow injured in his testicle (as pictured,, if you can stomach images like this)
So an update:
His injuries:
- gun shots
-mangled testicles
- mangled paw
The plan so far:
- debride the sc***um and close it.
- debride the foot and do wound care to try to salvage it. Otherwise he will need an amputation
- proper nutrition for his emaciated state
Right now, this family reports that they do want to adopt Axel. So hopefully he will have a family to go home to after his hospital stay for some extremely intensive care.
Which is awesome. I really hope he is adopted this quickly.
We have plenty of other dogs here with stories very similar to Axel that need good homes to adopt them. And we appreciate all donations to help us continue to save lives like Axel.

I have an update.
This guys name is Axel. He belonged to an Elderly person who wasn’t able to provide for him and he had been running lose.
A neighbor was very concerned but didn’t know their place in being allowed to take ownership of him.
Unfortunately, he was shot and dumped 2 weeks ago.
I spoke with them a good bit and the neighbor is extremely sweet and cares a lot about axel and is wanting to adopt him.
He’s still at the vet. He’s in even worse condition than I realized because I could do a good exam on him due to how freaked out he was.
I am praying he is able to make a full recovery so he can go home to a family that wants him and will keep him contained and spoiled.
I will keep updated as I get information
I was alerted about a sick weak husky that has been wondering around for days. Sight unseen, despite how full we are and how much money we have poured into rescues lately, I agreed to help a while ago.
Some good Samaritans finally saw him again after he had disappeared.
Probably so weak and helpless that this point he couldn’t really run away.
Well, he doesn’t look full husky. which has never been an issue before and isn’t about to start to be, but he can sure howl like one.
This guy is in absolutely pitiful condition.
Emaciated. Terrified... and one of his rear paws is broken and has exposure deep into the flesh.
It’s bleeding all over the place.
So luckily he managed to go from about to die on a road to at a doctor’s house.
I’m starting him on antibiotics, some meds for pain and going to try to flush the wound and wrap... if he’ll let me. He’s hurting bad and absolutely terrified.
Some of these pictures may be difficult to look at.
This is another expensive medical case. I’ll do my best but I don’t know yet if that paw is salvageable.

We had a vet appointment today.
The girls had blood work which was surprisingly good except Francine showed an infection which isn’t surprising at all.
They had their ears treated for infection.
Their nails trimmed more.
Rabies.
Heartworm tests.
Antibiotics and antifungals.
They said Francine had an extremely impressively horrible teeth. Several staff members couldn’t even handle the smell from her mouth when they looked.
The vet is very worried about putting Francine under given the age she was claimed. And suspects that Polly has some other underlying issues due to her eyes.
She is concerned that Francine may not make it out of surgery if a complication arises.
I’m very worried and trying to have my heart and head talk it out about our best options.
I included a pic of their bill. To show what we did today and Just to try to explain. This is about how much I spend every vet visit. Often times, usually, much more.
It’s expensive to take in new dogs and to care for the ones we have. Sometimes people look at rescues and rescuers like we are terrible people when we can’t take in more, but some times it’s because we reach a boundary. ❤️

We have many vet visits in the next few weeks.
Tomorrow (2/22) two of our blind mice Francine and Polly will be going in for blood work, antibiotics, meds for their infected skin/ ears, flea meds/ HW prevention as well as a consult for their teeth. Their teeth are very severe. I have tried to take a few pictures by myself so I am sure it’s hard to appreciate.
Then we will have spays for a few huskies here on Monday!
Then we’ll be needing lots of HW and rabies updated.
And we’ll need health certificates for dogs going up north.
Anddd some more spays and neuters 🤣
As you can only imagine all this after spending over a thousand to save a dog that we were too late for💔💔💔.
I do everything completely out of my pocket and while people may think those pockets are deep they truly aren’t! (I make a tiny bit more than minimum wage for my hours worked)

Little Gump update. Gump is now named Oliver, Ollie at his forever home. He has siblings both dog and children.
You may remember little Gump, named that because he came here with difficulty walking due to rickets. He was full of worms and had suffered from malnutrition.
He came here with his mom Lily. Apparently Olliver has a bit of little man syndrome like his mom LOL

Steele has been more himself lately. I’ve had to chase him down the drive way while he is booking it to go off and do husky mischief. You’d be surprised how fast his little arthritic body can move when he is motivated.
He has some serious medical issues that we are still working up to the best of our ability. I have realistically come to the point where I am aware that his comfort is the biggest priority, and I won’t lose sight of that for him.
His face is beyond dirty right now which is a small victory in itself because that means he has eaten (he gets himself quite dirty as he is eating). What and when he wants to eat varies quite a bit lately. I just take his lead.
Francine has been adjusting to our home. I can only imagine the stress she has had going on for some time dealing with a sick mom and now this brand new place.
I’m trying my best to keep her happy and comfy. She pretty desperately needs these teeth out. They are noticeably rotten and have a terrible odor. I think she will be a lot happier when he get that done

These are the newest littles that needed some attention.
Their momma just died and I believe prior to her passing, some good vet care was lacking because she was so sick.
This is Polly and Francince as I am aware.
Senior littles. One is believed to be 20 and the other I am not quite sure.
They have vision loss / may be completely blind.
They both have skin infections, nails are too long, ear infections and will require teeth to be removed secondary to severe dental disease.
We’ll be needing quite a bit of vet care to get these babies healthy.
I appreciate any help from our supporters.

Every time he would do his prance, I would miss most of it on video. Of course, such is my luck. Ignore his messy face. I have had to syringe some of his meds lately because he has been not interested in taking meds. So we need another bath. Steele is feeling good today. I bought some $70 for a 20 lb special food for him. I’m hoping he will eat it. 🤞🤞
Well the dogs couldn’t care less about mom right becauseeeee — now it’s snowing! Here are a few of the dogs playing in the snow ❤️❤️
First, excuse my dirty house. If you haven’t noticed a few dogs live here with me and they enjoy playing in dirt. 😂 I hear negative things about Great Pyrenees all the time and it honestly amazes me. That they can’t learn. That they can’t be inside dogs. That they are vicious. They only belong on farms. Yes, Great Pyrenees are livestock guardians. This doesn’t mean that they can’t make excellent pets. It just means you as an owner/trainer need to be aware of their background and needs. Just like you do of any other breed. I fully believe in researching breeds to see if you are the right fit. And when adopting mixes to talk to your rescuer to make sure you are the right fit for that dog etc. So many Great Pyrenees are passed up on because of these weird myths about them. I’ve been blessed to have had Great Pyrenees in my life on and off for over 10 years. With at one time, 14 rescued Great Pyrenees in my care. They are smart, kind and gentle dogs. That will guard and protect you from any dangers or occasionally just some leaves falling on the ground too suspiciously. 😂🍁 Here Kunik is doing a sit and stay for me. Because she is just the best girl. I’ve been home sick today, and she has been very sweet to me.
And her ultimate goal. This is why I can’t have nice things 🤦🏻♀️😂

Uki, Caeli and Steele Some of the oldest dogs here on a walk. Gotta brag on Uki. A week ago she could barely stand. Now she is prancing around. 🥰😍 Steele is blowing his coat fulll force and itchy! Right in time for the cold of winter haha 😆 🤦🏻♀️ Caeli 🌟❤️ has been with me all around the US. She’s seen hundreds of other rescues come and go here.

I wonder how much of my day is spent talking to dogs 🤣❤️ a good portion. Miss Lola is such a sweet sweet girl despite every bit of neglect and absolute horror I am sure her life has been up until this point. I’m just in awe of the courage it takes to trust people and hope that they are going to help unlike those before in her life. She has been eating well and acting in good spirits. I’m very happy to be a part of her journey.
