I always love working with Mr. Marty at Fayette Friends of Animals. He’s what we call a great ‘helper-dog’ because he’s so versatile and responsive to each dog’s different behaviors and needs. He’s one of the many great dogs available for adoption at Fayette Friends of Animals. I’m very grateful for my time working there each week 🐾💜

After just one session with Mr. Banks to address potty training and puppy behaviors, I received an update from his paw-rent today that he has not had one accident in the house since our session. They’re doing wonderful with his training and I’m so proud of them. Just look how cute he is 🐾💜

Play sessions are so important for shelter dogs for exercise and socialization. You can see how tired Rebel is by the end! I got to visit a very special and old friend today; Marley! He was adopted a year ago from Fayette Friends of Animals and has adapted very well with his wonderful new family. When I first started working with him at the shelter he was very difficult to get through to. Dogs like him remind me of why I do what I do. It was quite emotional seeing him today. 🐾💜

Legolas is still looking for a new home! He is a 2 year old German Shepherd with severe OCD. His current owners are unable to implement his treatment plans due to their severe medical issues.

I can’t stop thinking about Mr. Legolas and I wanted to do something special for him. So we went to Mingo Creek Park and the Spa!

He loved the creek and exploring the trails. Afterwards, we went to the wonderful Candelore's Barking Beauties for a nice spa day. They were amazing with Legolas and did a perfect job!

If anyone is interested in adopting Legolas please reach out. He needs an active home that can provide him proper outlets and training.

This is Legolas and he’s available for adoption. He suffers from very severe OCD and constantly chases his tail / chews on it. Legolas was unfortunately removed from his mother at 4 weeks old. It is possible this may have contributed to some of his current issues. Legolas would need to go to an active household that is able to implement the training and exercise he needs. He is a very sweet, lovable dog. He is much more relaxed on walks away from his current home and he’s a great companion to jog with.

He is a 2 year old German Shepard and he is scheduled to receive his boosters this month. To ensure he goes to a good home - the potential adopter must complete an adoption application. Adoption fee $150. A free training session is included with his adoption.

As you can see in the video, he is much more relaxed when he has a proper outlet. He needs an owner that can give him the exercise and structure he needs to thrive. Please contact me for more information. 🐾💜

Update: we have had ZERO interest in Lila!!! She is in need of a new home or foster soon. Please consider meeting her and seeing for yourself what a wonderful dog she really is. So full of potential!

This is Miss Lila! We are looking for a foster home for her until she is ready to be adopted out 🥰 Let's get to know Lila!!

Lila is an 11 month old female pittie with an amazingly sweet disposition. She is a bit nervous when meeting new people (especially men) but warms up quickly. Once she gets comfortable with you she'll stay by your side! Lila is housebroken, loves her toys (especially her bones!), and will roll over for a nice belly scratch session. Lila would do well in a home with another dog if it is a good match. She was raised in a home with children of all ages so she would make a wonderful family dog. Lila has not had any known experiences with cats so she would need to be tested. Lila has a lot of puppy energy and will jump up but with some training and positive reinforcement she would do just fine. Lila met with Luke from Dharma Dog Behavioral Wellness yesterday and had a great session!

Meet Miss Ruby! She’s available for adoption through Ninth Life Rescue Center and is currently living with a wonderful foster family. Ruby is very smart and loves working for treats! She’s also a really affectionate, loyal doggie. Ruby is a 1-1/2 year old Blue Heeler mix. As you can see from her first photo she is also part frog. Currently, Ruby is in training to work through some reactivity issues with other animals. She would prefer to be the only animal in the home but may do well with a very submissive male. Meet Draxx! He’s a 150 pound sweetheart who is available for adoption at Fayette Friends of Animals. He’s very smart and did great with his training today. Had a great training session today with the wonderful volunteers of Fayette Friends of Animals on shelter safety and positive reinforcement. The dogs are so fortunate to have such a dedicated, caring team! They make such a great impact on all the dogs lives. 🐾💜

Coco has made great progress the past 3 months with her reactivity issues. Initially during her walks at the park she would bark and lunge at dogs, bikes, skateboards, scooters, rollerblades, etc. She was a highly reactive doggie. We helped Miss Coco by practicing impulse control exercises at the parks. A dog’s impulse control ability is like a mental muscle we can exercise. We structured Cocos interactions around her triggers by having her complete commands for rewards. Having these positive experiences around her triggers helped teach Coco she doesn’t need to react. I’m very proud of Coco and how far she’s come. 🐾💜

Great session at Fayette Friends of Animals today! It’s very rewarding teaching staff how to hold safe play groups for the shelter dogs. Implementing playgroups is a great way to exercise, enrich, and learn more about each dog. Here’s a video of one of our playgroups with Harlow (Hound), Luke (Labradoodle), and Kevin (Pit mix).
