After a little over 2 years of late night studying and course work, several 4 day weekends away from home, and a few hundred quizzes and tests, I am now officially certified in animal chiropractic by the AVCA. I appreciate all the support and encouragement my family has given me in this endeavor. I could never have done it without their patience and understanding. When I set out on this mission and journey I had no idea how much it would change me and my perspective on animal health and production. Thank you Dr Bill Ormston (Dr O.) and Dr Amy Hayek for all your excellent instruction and encouragement at Animal Chiropractic Education Source.

Baby South Poll bull calf born this morning! Mom and baby were both adjusted this evening and are doing great! Did you know that birth is one of the most traumatic events in any living creatures life…..that goes for momma and baby. Adjusting the mother after labor sets her up for successful recovery, rearing and rebreeding. And adjusting the baby or babies after hitting the ground sets them up for a healthy, successful start to life. Think about them trying to nurse if their necks hurt, following the herd if their pelvis isn’t level, or establishing those critical first connections between the brain and body and environment if the atlas is out of alignment! This goes for every species……cow, horse, dog, cat, pig, sheep, goats, humans.

This sweet little guy is Bobby Lee. Bobby had an accident that resulted in complete loss of function to the left rear leg and significant weakness in the right rear leg. He is still recovering but, as you can see, after just 3 chiropractic adjustment he has already shown significant improvement. Amazing to see!!!

I‘m not sure how many animals I’ve adjusted since starting the A.C.E.S. program. It’s been a lot. I just graduated from A.C.E.S. on Sunday….so no I can’t say I adjusted 54 animals this week since graduating. But, I can say I still helped the 54 animals I saw in various appointments at the vet clinic with animal chiropractic. How? Well, either they got adjusted or even if I didn’t adjust the animal, I was able to educate their owners about animal chiropractic. I was able to tell and show them why every one of their animals SHOULD be getting adjusted. Every owner I educated now has an animal OR animals that stands a better chance of being adjusted the next time I see them. The animal chiropractor approaches each patient with a mindset and outlook that traditional veterinary medicine can’t bring to the table…..so we truly do help every animal we come into contact with simply by educating their owners about what chiropractic is and can do.

My animal chiropractic journey officially began a little over a year ago. However, the decision to pursue chiropractic training has been years in the making. I love being a veterinarian and all the animal patients the profession has allowed me to work on. I truly see it as God’s calling in my life. About 4 years ago I began an examination of my responsibility to Gods creation (entire creation, not just animals) by looking at what His word says. This included a study of the creation narrative itself, regenerative agricultural practices, and health practices in the Bible. What is clear, in all of its complexity, when able to function as designed, God’s creation sustains itself. Likewise, He created us and all animals with an incredibly complex neurological system that, when able to function as designed, has an absolutely amazing ability to heal and sustain health. Therefore, the goal of animal chiropractic is to use God’s given tools, the hands, to correct spinal subluxations, and enable to nervous system to communicate efficiently with the body so it has the opportunity to function and heal as God designed it to. It’s truly amazing! It really should be our first go to therapy! And I can’t wait to share more about it with you.
