Learning a lot since 2009 with our first mastiff, and continuing that learning now with raw feeding, prophylaxis, and the proper supplements.

They’re all about 20lbs, some weigh more.
Full of energy and mischief!
The “octopus” toy is a big hit for the tug-o-war game they play.

Their timing is impeccable. Hungry at 10pm and many times 4am. 😜

The supper time food mix has raw honey, a bit of oatmeal and coconut oil.

Lunch time had pumpkin purée and chopped green beans added to the mix.

Dr. Zeirath at The Bluffs Pet Clinic has been absolutely amazing during this puppy journey.
From Lacie in labor with the 13th puppy to treating Lacie for metritis, mastitis and seeing the puppies at a few hours old to today, the puppies at their 6 week wellness exam.
They all passed the wellness exam with zero concerns, and are given the green light to go to their homes when they’re 8 weeks old.

No more than 2-3 minutes of putting a kennel in the puppy area and they find comfort in it.
There are 5 puppies in this kennel 😂

These p**p machines had clean peepads, bathed and their area fresh blankets 20 minutes ago.
Second bath in 2 days.

If you’re thinking about a litter of puppies, come hang with me for 24 hours.

What is the significance of this?
These are 4 different blankets that have been in the puppy area since they were born.
Peed and p**ped on, washed, slept on, repeat.
When puppies are ready for their new home, it’s important for them to have that familiar smell of their litter mates with them to the new home.
It reduces stress immensely.
The 11 puppies that will be leaving us in a few weeks, will be taking a piece of these blankets with them to help the transition to the new homes a bit more comfortable.

Grinding up some freezer burnt pork and venison we got for free. The puppies have had a taste of just about every common meat. Beef, chicken, turkey, venison and pork. They’re starting to rip apart some meaty bone and chewing on those a bit.

How many of you have a pet that goes CRAAAZY at the sound of a doorbell or door knocking? Fireworks? Emergency siren? Were they taught this behavior? Do you allow this? Are they a guard dog or just annoying with this behavior? How do you feel about this behavior? Do you wish the breeder had done some desentisizing? When we knew Lacie and Sully were having puppies, we (I mostly 😜) started researching and learning about what to do and not to do with a litter of puppies. One small task that literally takes a few seconds to set up, is the sound desentisizing. Set up a youtube sound that plays for a couple hours and walk away. The noise these puppies listen to while they are sleeping, playing, eating, will accustom them to the world of noises and make it a bit easier for them to accept these noises and not react negatively, as they are older. Doorbell and door knocking desentisizing today. 👂🏻 👂🏻👂🏻Sound on 👂🏻👂🏻

Outside play time today!

Suuuuper awkward post but here’s what Sullys teeth look like. They have never been “brushed” or “cleaned” by us or the vet. Raw food does the work to keep them clean. Sully started raw at 8 weeks old and hasn’t had kibble since then. And yes he lets us look in his mouth. One thing that is important to work with your dog so they become comfortable with you handling their mouth, ears and even feet. Especially important if there would ever be a need for emergency vet if they had an injury in those areas so they vet can safely see the issue. Don’t mind my puppy talk to my little boy 😜💙😂

That one fluffier coat puppy looks like her name should be Bear. She is available 💜
