The Clumberjacks are out competing this weekend. Tardy has just finished a season, so needed a bath to freshen up before going out. I felt really mean as she looked so excited that we might b going somewhere nice when I opened the back door! When she saw the bath, she couldn’t sit further away. And post bath, well she displayed her natural beauty, as u can see!! Fortunately, when she got over the indignity of her ordeal, she looked super shiny and clean. Keep an eye out for our show report after the weekend.

Walking with Clumbers are organising a Clumber day, at Clumber Park June 23rd. It is looking to be a fab day, with a Clumber spaniel marshalled walk for Walking with Clumber members and then a picnic and displays organised. The Clumberjacks are going to be there demonstrating Obreedience and happy to talk through the process with anyone there. After the demo, we will be sticking around and happy to give some tips to anyone who wants to have a go with their own Clumber. We hope to see you there and meet many of you.

The ClumberJacks had fun day out at Obreedience today. Lovely to have Izzie Hirst and Taehya back out with us, after Taehya’s maternity leave. As usual, our individual tasks were our strong point, with all 4 partnerships pulling in high marks. Prob the least said about our heel work the better 🤣🤣🤣. We ended up in 5th place, so picked up some points towards crufts qualification.

The Clumberjacks had a great time at Crufts on a Thursday. We didn’t feature in the awards but we never expected to. We are a new, relatively inexperienced team. Our heelwork showed great improvement, with room for more improvement still. Our individual tasks are our strength, with 3 of our dogs scoring highly. Unfortunately, the atmosphere at crufts proved a little much for one of the team dogs, who used their task time to show the audience that clumbers are by no means slow! This clumber won the hearts of all the audience and her day to shine will come. We are looking forwards to improving and competing in some more heats this summer and continuing to showcase our wonderful, vulnerable breed. Thanks to everyone who sent supportive messages to us.

When u r practising ur team heel work without the dogs, so as not to bore them and 2 of them decide to join in anyway! Then when they get fed up and leave, the third dog joins for the last half of the routine 🤣🤣🤣

The Clumberjacks have been invited to compete at Crufts Obreedience Final 2024. We are very excited to b able to represent the Clumber spaniel at this competition. We have had a quiet season due to our own personal commitments making it hard to attend many qualifiers, so had not expected to qualify, but having just gained a place we are fully embracing the opportunity.

The team competing at Crufts will be:

Ellis O’Grady and Meadowskye Storm (Fergal)
Elizabeth Kwint and Parkforth It’ll be Reyt (Sköll)
Claire Knowles and Jackpotstud Running Late (Tardy)
Lesley Knowles and Jackpotstud Super Model (Twiggy).

Eirini Spyratou is a reserve.

We will miss Izzie Hirst and Taehya at Crufts, who are long standing team members but unfortunately can’t join us this time due to a previous diary commitment.

The Obreedience competition takes place on Thursday 7th March at Crufts. Please say hello if u see us there 👋👋

The Clumberjacks just missed out on qualification for the Obreedience finals at Crufts this year, as although in a qualifying position, we were the 4th placed team from the gundog group and only 3 teams from each group can go forwards to the final at Crufts. However 4 of our canine members and their handlers will be at Crufts, representing their breed in other activities and I hope you will join us in wishing them luck.

Today we went to Stoneleigh to compete, we managed a respectable 6th place today out of 9 which we are very pleased with as there was a lot of competition.

We got s lot of positive comments for the dogs, it's such a lovely atmosphere to be a part of!

Another outing for the Clumberjacks today at Thame Premier Open Show. Some very high scores for our individual tasks, which is great progres. Now need to improve our heelwork, so we can challenge for the higher places. We didn’t have a spare person today so no pics/videos but do have a pic of 2 of our team members in the pub on the way home!
