Pennsylvania’s first Sunday hunting opportunity for the 2021-22 hunting season takes place this Sunday, Nov. 14!

In addition to deer (archery), properly licensed hunters can pursue the following species: Bear (archery in WMUs 2B, 5B, 5C and 5D only), Squirrel, Pheasant, Rabbit, Grouse, Bobwhite Quail, Woodchuck, Crow, Raccoon, Fox, Coyote, Opossum, Striped Skunk, Weasel and Porcupine.

Don’t forget, hunters who plan to hunt on private land are required to carry written permission from the landowner. The permission slip should be signed by the landowner, and should include the hunter’s name, address and CID license number, and the landowner’s name, address and phone number. Pennsylvania’s first Sunday hunting opportunity for the 2021-22 hunting season takes place this Sunday, Nov. 14!

In a recent episode of The MeatEater Podcast, Steven Rinella mentioned Pennsylvania’s Senate Bill 607, which seeks to repeal Sunday Hunting Prohibition in Pennsylvania. Those on the episode weren’t sure if the Pennsylvania Game Commission supports the bill, so we would like to take this opportunity to clarify that the agency is fully supportive of Senate Bill 607.

Senate Bill 607, being sponsored by Sen. Dan Laughlin, would remove the current restrictions on Sunday hunting in Pennsylvania and provide the Pennsylvania Game Commission with full authority to regulate hunting on Sundays. Lack of time and work obligations are the primary reasons Pennsylvania hunters stop hunting. If passed, Senate Bill 607, would allow the Game Commission to open more Sundays to hunting and in turn provide increased opportunities for hunters to get afield.

It’s almost that time a year again! 🦌

We know many of you are wondering when you can put that pink envelope in the mail. So here is Pennsylvania’s 2021-22 hunting season antlerless deer license application schedule:

🔸July 12, 2021 –Residents
🔸July 19, 2021 –Nonresidents
🔸August 2, 2021 –Unsold, 1st Round
🔸August 16, 2021—Unsold, 2nd Round

Please note, hunters must purchase a 2021-22 general hunting license BEFORE applying for an antlerless license. All antlerless deer license applications must be mailed in the official pink envelopes to a county treasurer; applications are accepted by mail only until over-the-counter sales begin.
