Maintenance
Fresh water should always be available and should be changed on a daily basis. Worming should be repeated every three months with a broad-spectrum bird wormer. It is essential that a good quality calcium supplement such as Calcivet is given to your African Grey at least 3 times a week for the first year.
Measurements
African grey parrots are usually about a foot tall. They measure 12 β 16 inches with their average height being 13 inches.
Personality
African greys are the most intelligent of the parrot species. Many grow to be extremely sweet and affectionate toward their owners, and the species is known for being quite sociable. However, an African grey that is bored or neglected is an unhappy bird. A depressed or angry bird will screech its discontent.
African greys are found throughout the lowland rainforests in western and central Africa. While they prefer to inhabit the rainforest, they have also been seen on forest edges, within gallery forests (which are forests located alongside streams or rivers), and in gardens. They one of the most domesticated birds due to their calm and cool humorous nature.
