Our mission is to provide shelter and care to dogs and cats in need in the Shreveport area, especially those with obstacles to adoption.

Honey Bunny / Honey Bear / Honey Mama is out of boarding and with a foster temporarily before she goes to training next month. We are so profoundly grateful. 🙏🐾💕🙏🐾💕

I (Tyrrell) got to see all our boarded babies yesterday. I wept. It hurt. Even though they get lots of playtime, they have lots of room, and the people there are wonderful, it’s obvious they’re stressed out.

If you have any room in your home and heart to foster , please get in touch. We can pay $25/week , and we can provide all supplies (kennels, food, meds, etc.).

The dogs still on boarding are: Arwen, Danny Boy, Dielle, Petunia, and Sheila. In foster homes are: Cricket, Ladybug, Honey, Sparky, and Spyro. Meatball and Ruthie are with me, and Ruthie especially would really benefit from having a home where she is the only fur baby.

Please share! Meatball’s heartworm treatment came out to $1,022.88, which is a little more than we budgeted for, but that good boy is worth every penny!!! The vet is very graciously allowing us to pay in installments, but we really need more bids on these fantastic auction items!!!! Bidding has been extended until this Friday, 1/31, at 5 PM! Adopt Barnaby!! Just look at how good and sweet this little boy is. 😍 Wouldn’t you enjoy a precious, dog- and cat-friendly brindle in your life?

Pupdate from DJ, now known as Cain!!!! He’s the handsome redhead in this video, playing “Chew On Your Face” with his sister, Mandy. Cain and his (canine) mama were rescued together. Cain went into foster and became a foster fail, but his mama Dielle is still looking for a forever home!! She is just as gorgeous as Cain, and she is made of love. We are so happy that this sweet boy has found his forever home!!!

This is the precious baby who’d been parked at Fairfield & McCormick for a few days. He has a wonderful temporary foster who can keep him safe during our winter storm, but he will need other accommodations later if he’s to stay out of the shelter. With our relocating and so much to pay in boarding fees, we can’t help him like we want to. He’s almost perfect with his potty training, he’s dog friendly, he walks well on a leash, and his foster said he showed no aggression toward her cats. If you have a brindle-boy-shaped hole in your heart, please let us help!!

Cricket and Ladybug are thriving in their board-and-train program with Royal Dog Training! Ladybug has one meet-and-greet scheduled. Let us know if you’d like to meet either of them or any other Mutt House baby!

Monster is otw to the vet!!! Thank you to Mutt House board members Zuki Lynn and Kathy Drum for getting her all ready. She will likely need a lot of medical care — we don’t yet know what’s going on with those back legs. If you are able to donate toward her treatment, there are multiple ways to do it!
