Our last “for now” foster, Olive (now Ember) was adopted for this sweet young girl for Christmas!!! They’re going to be the best of friends! Have a wonderful life, sweet Olive!

🐾 NEMO’s FIP JOURNEY UPDATE 🐾

I’m late on this update and I’m so sorry for that, but it’s official!!! After 89 days on meds, Nemo has graduated to observation!!! This really is a miracle drug, saving thousands of kitties with no other hope.

He has been in observation for almost a month and has 2 to go. No more meds for now, tho! Just weighing him regularly and watching him.

He is SO full of energy and acts the way a normal kitten should, plus some! He went back home for Christmas, but it’s kind of a trial run for now. He’s a “lot” now and may be more than my grandparent’s can handle. But, if it doesn’t work out, he’ll have a forever home with us. We’ve been through so much with that big guy!

A little look back at his history along this journey:
Starting weight was 7 #. After we got all the excess fluid off of him, he got down to 4 # in the middle of September. He was a sick guy with little energy and absolutely emaciated. 3 months later on this miracle drug, he has flourished to 9.5 # and has the energy of 5 cats!

We can’t thank you enough for your care and donations. Thank you for helping to save his life!!!

With all that said, we have decided to step down from fostering for the foreseeable future. We had a tough year, losing 1 adult FIV kitty and 3 kittens plus the long journey with Nemo. It’s time for a break. This absolutely isn’t forever, tho!

🐾 NEMO’S FIP JOURNEY - UPDATE 🐾

Nemo has made it to the halfway point in his treatment and is doing amazingly well! He is now staying with us because the stress of it all just got to be too much for my grandparents, but they’re visiting whenever they can and can’t wait to get him back home with him.

This medication is truly a miracle! More people need to be aware that a diagnosis of FIP no longer means a death sentence. It is currently only available through unconventional means and is very expensive, but hopefully with time it will be released and approved to veterinary use.

We are coming up on needing to place another order for a month’s worth of meds. If you’d like to be part of Nemo’s life-saving venture, please consider donating. Our sweet boy had his blood work done today and his numbers have greatly improved! The medication is working!

We had to unexpectedly bid farewell to our little 6 week old sweet pea yesterday. After suddenly becoming ill over the weekend, she tested positive for Panleukopenia (like Parvo in dogs). I held her and comforted her as she crossed Rainbow Bridge to join her brothers.

🐾 KITTEN UPDATE 🐾

Sugar Snap is 3-1/2 weeks old! Her eyes are wide open and her vision is getting more clear each day, she gets excited when she hears my voice and she’s walking more. We’re “glamping” this weekend and she’s getting lots of attention and socialization! We’ll start litter training this week. 😻

Meet Sugar Snap Pea, our sweet 5 day old baby. 🥰 We’ve had her since she was one day old after her mama gave birth to her and 3 other litter mates and abandoned them. We’re not sure if she was young and confused or why she left them. Her litter mates didn’t make it, but this little sweet pea is a fighter! I wonder what she could be dreaming about… 💤

😻 Nemo and Sq**rt are 3 weeks! 😻

I can’t believe how far these two have come in a week! They’ve more than doubled their weight and are both around 330g (11.6 oz). They’re both dealing with an eye infection, but it’s improving. Nemo (the one with more white) is becoming quite the snuggle-bug and likes to climb up by my neck and do the sweetest little chirps. Sq**rt is living up to his name and is quite the little stinker. He’s the loud one of the two, a huge wiggle-worm and almost always pees on me. 🤦🏼‍♀️ It’s quite comical how dramatic he is!

They’re exploring more and walking better each day. One more week of quarantine and I’ll start introducing them to our kitties for some socialization.

Ripley (now Riley) is adjusting so well in her new home!!! She was adopted two weeks ago and we’ve been getting daily updates. We LOVE that because we were so worried about how she would handle the adoption. She was with us for 7 months and has overcome a lot but was still super skittish.

We’re happy to say that after only a week of adjusting, she’s already on their laps, playing, chirping and even letting them trim her nails!

Riley is why we do what we do. It’s such a special thing to help a kitten overcome health and social/behavioral issues, no matter how long it takes, to get them into their forever home living the happy life they deserve.

We can’t thank you enough, Todd and Lisa, for loving this girl so much already and committing to giving her her BEST life!

So excited to share that after 7 months with us, Ripley has been adopted!!! We will miss her terribly, but she hit the jackpot with her forever family. So happy for her!

Petunia and Penelope will be at Pet Supplies Plus in Battle Creek tomorrow from 2-6, looking for their forever home. They are both the sweetest babies! Petunia has the happiest voice and "chirps" when she's exploring and content. Penelope has the cutest little "boop" button on her nose (probably from so many kisses). ;) We'd love for them to go together -- two kitties are better than one! They're sisters that have been bottle raised together and love each other so much. Plus, you're saving TWO lives!

Penelope and Petunia are officially ready for adoption! They will be at Pet Supplies Plus this Friday from 2-5 and Saturday from 10-2. If you're interested in seeing them in person before then, just shoot me a message and we can set up a time for you to come visit. Adoption will be done through Companion Cats. Adoption fee for kittens is $100, but if you adopt 2 you get the second half off. We'd love to see these girls go together!

These girls love each other so much! Only another week or two and they’ll be ready to go…hopefully together! They’re not a bonded pair, but how fun would it be to have sisters?! We’re keeping their brother and are so excited to see who these girls end up with. They’re a riot! Petunia (the black one) has a sweet little mustache and Penelope has her very own “boop” button on her nose!
