Meet our resident BFF Kringle. Happy Mr. Kringle came into our care as a stray on Christmas Day, we were hoping he was someone's Christmas present that they would come here to be reunited with but sadly no owner came to pick him back up before he rang in 2022. Kringle is your typical husky, boisterous, fun loving, and affectionate. He has been in several playgroups at our shelter and loves enjoying ZOOMIE time with other playful dogs. Rescue Needed: A666078 Max 3 Year Old Male German Shepherd

A666078 Max is a 3 Year Old Male German Shepherd who was owner surrendered on 11/03/2021 due to family complications within the home. Upon surrender to LBACS Max was nervous and defensive (exhibiting air snapping/barking/bearing teeth/etc.) when approached in his kennel. Staff and an experienced volunteer have been working with Max to gain trust which allowed several out of kennel walks and prior evaluation. For several weeks A666078 Max was restricted from kennel exits due to ongoing URI, his most recent results came back negative which allowed a kennel exit.

According to owner surrender form from original owner, Max is shy/nervous with direct interactions by strangers but friendly when comfortable. Max lived with children in his prior home and is noted as being gentle with them. Per his owner surrender form, he did air snap/attempt to bite a friend of owner who ‘tried to pet him right away’ (noted in OS form). A666078 Max’s former owner stated he was attacked by a dog several months ago while they were on a walk, but A666078 Max does appear playful and affiliative with other dogs and showed no concerning behavior. Out of kennel A666078 Max does not display any direct aggressive or defensive behavior to strangers in passing or within a common area when not approached directly.

Additional videos available below showing his initial defensiveness on first approach while in kennel, behavior on later approach while in kennel, his relaxed demeanor when given a kennel exit, and his behavior when near or walking with other dogs and around new people. A666078 Max does appear to know some basic commands, walks reasonably easy on leash, and exhibits relaxed disposition when out of kennel. While former owner of A666078 Max stated in owner surrender form he has scratched an individual (friend that attempted to immediately pet A666078 Max), owner states it was not result from a bite and does not have a bite on his record. A666078 Max will require some behavior modification regarding nervousness to strangers when directly confronted/approached unsolicited, however his concerning behavior is primarily exhibited while in kennel and would likely thrive when placed with experienced rescue organization.
