This is Dolly. She's 17 years old and is having a well needed and deserved massage after being brought back into work. And just after 2 months of being ridden she has become very tight. Dolly loves a good massage especially on her face and legs. Throughout the whole session Dolly never stopped yawning or chewing which is a very good sign.

I am a qualified equine massage therapist. I treat all horses from young, competition, veteran, retired and all other disciplines.
There are different ways a massage can help such as:
★ Increasing range of movement
★ Improve stamina
★ Provide comfort to muscle joints
★ Improve circulation
★ Enhance the performance and gait quality
★ Assess the physical condition

Signs your horse may need a massage are:

★ Change of behaviour
★ Reduced performance
★ Better on one rein
★ Struggles with the correct canter lead
★ Head tilt
★ Holds tail to one side
★ High head carriage
★ Uneven stride length

Your horse doesn't have to be showing any signs to need a massage. Horse massage should be part of your horse's maintenance regime.
