Did you know that Tazewell County animal control is open to dog dates out? They also LOVE their fosters! They would love to get more of our dogs and cats into foster homes so they have kennels open and so dogs can thrive in a home where fosters get to know their needs. If you’re interested in fostering or fostering to adopt, please call the shelter or stop by Monday-Friday 8-4.

In our first post, we’ve learned when it rains it pours. Tazewell Animal Control (TCAC) recently impounded 5 beagles that were found to be in poor living conditions. Everyone loves beagles, the thought was that they’d come in get settled and TCAC staff would find them great homes! This morning heartworm tests were run. Four of these five angels are positive for heartworm. Heartworm prevention is under $15 a month. None of them have been receiving the prevention. Heartworm is painful and if not treated, it will kill a dog. Treatment will take months and while each of these dogs will survive, they should not have to face treatment for something that was preventable in the first place. We are committed to making these four well. We need you to help us do this!

Does your male dog need a GF? Our girl Coco Blossom is the chic for you! This girl is the real deal: affectionate, a perfect housemate, and has impeccable taste in humans. Little Miss Coco B is looking for a home that offers cuddles, car rides, and a human that buys her the best stuffies to play with. Coco Blossom is good with large male dogs and fine with kids. Cats and small dogs resemble her stuffies a little too much. Coco Blossom doesn’t need to crated because she has stellar house manners. Jordan is quite the fun little man! He’s petite perfection at 40 or so pounds. Jordan is playful and a bit energetic so a home that wants an active dog would be wonderful for him! Jordan likes cats and dogs and would be fine with kids that have been around dogs. If you’re looking for a walking partner, running buddy, or camping friend, this is the dog for you! He’s available for adoption at Tazewell County Animal Control and would love to be your very best BFF!
