One of these three troublemakers (and I’ve got my money on Ashira) decided my poor old TV needed a dramatic exit. It hit the floor, made a beeline for a German Shepherd figurine’s ear, and now the screen has an intricate spiderweb design that makes movie night a thing of the past.

The TV was pushing 20 years, and I think the cats held a secret meeting to stage a coup. Their verdict? “Enough of this relic—we demand HD for Cat TV!”

Meanwhile, Koda, the usual suspect, is lounging smugly, clearly relieved that for once, the blame doesn’t have his name on it.

I'm so glad I decided to confirm Aiyana's pregnancy with an x-ray! Her appointment was today, and guess what? No kittens! Even the vet was surprised—he was convinced she was carrying a few based on her appearance and how she felt, but it turns out there aren't any kittens after all.

Oh well, there's always next time.

This afternoon, I talked to my mom about Angel, and she said she can feel 3-4 little lumps. She thinks Angel is pregnant, but we're both being cautious about getting our hopes up because Fidget and Aiyana weren't pregnant when we thought they were.

In the meantime, here’s a photo of Phoenix! She was lounging on my printer and kept putting her paws on my arm while I worked. Such a sweet helper!

An update on Fidget: no kittens. I spoke with my mother yesterday and asked her if she was sure Fidget was pregnant. She said she didn't think so after all. Fidget isn't producing any milk in anticipation of a litter despite her size. She will be going to the vet for an exam.

This pregnancy was a mystery all around. Fidget had a lot of the symptoms of being pregnant, but she was missing other symptoms, so there was a lot of uncertainty. I'm suspecting it was our first false pregnancy.

For those anticipating kittens, I'm so sorry for this news.

But I do have another update to share. I bred Aiyana early this week. If pregnant, she will be due January 18. Her vet exam is scheduled for January 6 to confirm the pregnancy and see if we can count the kittens. It'll be fun to share the photo with all of you to see if you can count them and guess how many there are!

Chromie likes to anticipate what I'm going to do before I do it, and sometimes it results in the funniest things happening!

I was walking towards my bedroom door, and Chromie tried to race ahead of me but realized she was too far behind and not fast enough to make it in time. So she changed course and leaped into a small box, which went sliding across the floor from the force of it. I paused in confusion and looked at her, and she just nonchalantly licked herself like she had intended to do that all along. I rolled my eyes and went into the bedroom. She looked like she was going to try darting in there again but decided not to try.

Now I'm sitting on my computer desk, browsing Facebook, and getting ready to put some books on my Kindle, and she decides to jump up onto my computer desk. "Chromie, what are you up to?" I ask her. She's "hiding" behind my monitors when I say this and reaches a paw over to tap at my screen. Then she slinks over to my computer tower and tries to jump onto it but gets her nail stuck in the internet modem. "Really, cat?" I roll my eyes, grab her foot, and help her get unstuck.

She stood on top of the computer tower and stared at me, no doubt trying to beam her thoughts into my head, which never works, but she still tries. Now she's sleeping on the floor by my feet, which is actually her favorite spot when I'm at my desk.

She's such a character!

I got this photo while she was on the computer tower. She licked her lips when I took it, and she jumped down before I could take another one. So this is what I get to share. 😂

Some time ago, my daughter crocheted a hammock for my cats with the idea that I’d hang it on the wall above my desk so they could lounge nearby while I worked. But it ended up on my printer instead, since Ashira claimed it as her favorite spot whenever I’m at my computer. She gets upset if I set something on top of it by mistake and is quick to remind me that it's HER spot.

Well, it looks like she has to share now, because Pebbles found out about it! He was so adorable laying here that I had to take some photos, and when he saw me paying attention to him, he wanted to play. Ashira wandered over and wasn't pleased that HER spot was taken up by this little hooligan, so she huffed and sat on the back of my recliner (right behind my computer chair) instead. When Pebbles lost interest in playing with the camera, he jumped down to play with my shoelaces, and Ashira immediately took the opportunity to claim her spot. She kept a close eye on Pebbles to ensure that he wasn't going to wander over and try to take it again.

Meanwhile, Chromie thinks they’re all nuts and is convinced she’s the only one with any dignity around here.
