Perfect for the visual learner and simple explanation of one of the many responsibilities and costs of good breeders :)
I have made a few posts about NAD in the last week or so. A Positive dog WILL be affected & WILL usually begin to get the symptoms during their 2-3 yr. A CARRIER will NOT show any signs & will NOT be affected BUT if they are bred to another carrier, then a % of their offspring WILL BE POSITIVE!
Here is a chart for Breeders to help decide HOW to Breed away from NAD once you have received your NAD results on your dogs. You CAN breed a carrier IF you cross it on a NEGATIVE dog. You CAN breed a positive IF you cross it on a NEGATIVE dog. You CANNOT breed a carrier to a carrier AND you CANNOT breed a positive to a carrier BECAUSE you will be creating Positive offspring with those crosses....
