It was a very long night and an even longer day. Maggie started giving birth to her puppies just before noon on Sunday, Father's Day, Juneteenth. They were all big babies. She needed my assistance in all four births. The first two were boys, the last two were girls. I'm heartbroken to have to write that I couldn't save the last one. She was the biggest one, 6.4 ounces, came out feet first, and spent probably 20 minutes with her head stuck inside. Maggie was out of pushing energy, and though I tried to get her out by the shoulders, I was afraid of breaking something by pulling too hard. I couldn't resuscitate her. So we have three puppies after Maggie's incredibly hard work. They're beautiful.

I forgot to post on this page..
DAISY HAD HER PUPS! Just like the vet said, there were six. And they are so tiny. She delivered like a champ, she didn’t even need any help. She started without us! She had two in her bed in the laundry room before we were even up😳. Then we brought her in the living room to her prepared whelping box and she had four more. All within about 4 hours. She had two boys, a girl, two more boys, and another girl..so 4 boys and two girls. Don’t tell Brent, but we might keep a girl.🤫 The fourth one, a boy we’re calling Tiny Tim, is the runt and I started hand feeding him last night because he wasn’t latching on and wasn’t thriving. We went to the vet this afternoon very worried that he had a cleft palette, but luckily he doesn’t. He’s just tiny and likely a couple days behind the others gestationally..meaning he was conceived on the second tie. And they were all born two days early, making him actually four days early. Long story short(ish), hopefully he’ll strengthen up in a couple days and be able to nurse soon. Until then it’s 3-4ml (less than a tsp) of replacement puppy milk every two hours. I’m gonna be dead to the world..I’m already feeling it after only 24 hours so far. I hurt all over. I’m old😂. But he’s so worth it. He’s tiny and adorable.❤️ Here’s a few pictures, and there will be lots to follow.🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🥰

The babies are here!! Two so far. We had to rush to the vet because the first one was stuck with just one back paw hanging out. Dr. Bailey had to pull out the first two. The first one, a girl, had to be resuscitated for the first 45 minutes or so. The vet tech that took such good care of her was adorable. Her name is Chancey, so I’m calling that pup Chancey.😍 The second one is a boy..no name yet. They’re both doing great!

The vet felt around to be sure that was all, and said she was done with two. But he kept palpitating. “Oh, I lied! There is another one way up here (right under her ribs), far away from the birth canal. You’ll be helping her with that one some time later this evening.” That was at 4:30 this afternoon. Three hours later, we’re back home and still nothing. Should be interesting.😳

Sad news. I took Miss Maggie in for a more visible puppy X-ray today. The vet only saw TWO puppies this visit.☹️ I was so disappointed I forgot to take a picture.

The Doctor confirmed it..we’re at day 46. But along with that confirmation comes the clarification that the puppies start to form bone on Day 45. So they aren’t very visible yet, making it harder to get an accurate count. But there are 3 for sure with the possibility of one or even two that can’t be verified. EEEEEeeeee!!! I’m so excited!🐶🐶🐶❤️❤️❤️

This silly girl has learned to climb up on me like she’s going to give me a kiss, then flip over so I’ll rub her belly. Makes me laugh every time.🤣 She’s starting to look preggie. She’s just over half way there..5 weeks!

We’re getting lots of snow here in Northern Utah!! Luckily the hubs is sweet enough to shovel a path for the littles to get out to the tree-sheltered grass over there!😆🐶❤️

My baby Rayna. I bought Rayna with money my stepfather Harvey Ray White left me when he passed away. So I decided to name her after him. She came with papers that I didn’t bother looking at when I picked her up. Later that day after we had gotten home and settled in, the papers were on the counter so I looked them over. A couple minutes in, I noticed the birth date. My mouth dropped open when I read it..it was HARVEY’S birthday!! Did he lead me to her? I like to think so. So every January 24th, I wish them both a happy birthday.🐶❤️ Harvey would have loved her. Actually, maybe he’s loving her now!

Welcome! Welcome!!

Yesterday, January 24th, was Rayna’s birthday..she would have been 8 years old. She died when she was only 2-years-old, just 3 weeks after having her first litter of puppies. I loved her and miss her every day. But I thank her for the legacy she left behind..namely her daughter Maggie, who has since given us more beautiful pups. And Maggie’s daughter Daisy is going to give us puppies too! Every subsequent generation of Rayna’s is a blessing.

So we thank you for joining us in this joyful journey!🐶🐶🐶❤️

I wanted to create this page to celebrate Rayna and the beautiful legacy she started with a small litter of three gorgeous puppies born on Cinco de Mayo, 2015. The only girl in that litter, Miss Margarita May..Maggie for short..is our momma pup now, due with a new litter around mid March. And Maggie’s two-year-old daughter, Daisy Moo, will be a new momma by the end of March too!

So this page will document these little moms’ 63-day journeys, the birth of their babies, the chaos and joy that IS raising sweet, rambunctious puppies, and even the finding of their forever families.
