Many of my friends who follow my personal page know about this but I wanted to share here also. I had a very, very scary episode with our sweet momma Lily. Monday morning I woke up to her babies crying. I went to check on everyone and I found Lily in the corner, pressing her head into the wall and making the most horrible meows 💔. I went to touch her and she absolutely panicked. Her breathing was very fast and she was nothing like herself. I got her into a carrier and drove to COVE and I honestly didn't think she would survive the drive. I've never seen a cat like that before. It was heartbreaking.
Her temp was low, she had gone blind and was showing neurological symptoms. I had no idea what happened.
We discussed that this was a very poor prognosis and euthanasia was likely. Initial bloodwork was normal and she was given meds to calm her. I wanted to give her some time in the unlikely event that she might show improvements. The incredible vet at COVE kept working on her, checked her heart, which showed enlargement and possibly pooled blood. This led her to believe it was a clot & a stroke like event. Another test pointed to that also. She was given anti clotting meds and supportive care but I still had very little hope.
BUT by earling evening she had partial sight and was up and eating!!!!!
We brought her home around 11 pm and this video was taken. She could see, she was walking normally, purring and eating!!!!!! I still can't believe it!
While I know it's very possible that things may get worse again, I'm thankful she is back with her babies and back to herself!
We will need to do a cardio consult at OSU or Medvet, but for now I'm so thankful she was given another chance at life. I'm still shocked!
Many thanks to everyone at COVE. Dr. Holt is just the kindest person you could meet and did an outstanding job saving Lily.
Also many thanks to Fredericktown vet and our wonderful friend Kris who both took the babies for a while so they would be fed and cared f
Sweet Humphrey is still looking for his furever home! He's about 2 yrs old. He gets along well with other cats and would probably be fine with a respectful doggo after an appropriate introduction!
Please share this boy! He came from a home with 20 other cats and he's ready to be part of a much smaller family who can give him all the butt rubs and love!

In just a few weeks Bee will have been in foster care for a YEAR 💔. I can't even explain how sad that makes me. Her foster momma is incredible but Bee really needs a home of her own. She's just over 2 years old so half her life has been in foster care!
Bee has made a ton of progress. She enjoys getting loved on now at breakfast time and still loves to be near her foster mom. Is she a snuggly lap cat? No. Is she sweet with the most awesome little personality and the cutest cat ever? Yes!
She will be your best friend but enjoys hanging out with you while keeping within her comfort zone. She's not going to seek attention through the day but she still wants to be near. She LOVES her toys and playing on her own. She isn't a fan of in your face or loud dogs but a laid back dog would be ok and she does just fine with cats. She came from a home with multiple cats and dogs. She would not be comfortable with young kids.
She's fostered in Fredericktown OH but I am willing to transport several hours for the right home.
She's spayed, microchipped, fiv/felv negative, and vaccinated. She needs an INDOOR only home please.
I know you guys went above and beyond sharing her before but there was no interest so can we try again?
Thank you 🐱 🐝 💗
Do we have any followers looking for an indoor/outdoor cat or a pair of barn cats? A woman I previously helped sadly passed away last year. The daughter has been going to the home to care for them however there is now no heat and the house will be in foreclosure soon. Almost all of her cats were indoor/outdoor cats before so they are used to being outdoors. Proper confinement is a must though so they don't run off and get lost.
We will confirm the cats are fixed or fix for you if interested.
They are in Fredericktown. Please message us if you can provide a loving indoor/outdoor home or barn home.
378 lives improved in 2024 because of all of you!!!!!
We had 210 adoptions and 378 spays and neuters including our adopted kitties! Knowing 210 cats and kittens are in their warm homes being loved on right now is just amazing. And those 378 spays and neuters prevented thousands of future cats from suffering outdoors and adding to the population.
We have many people to thank! Our adopters are simply the best and we have the most incredible volunteers imaginable. From transporters to fosters, these lives were saved because of you! A million thanks to our donors who make our work possible and to all of our supporters. I know we don't thank you all enough but please understand every day we think about how fortunate we are to have you all behind us!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! We love you all!
Edit: ADOPTED 🥳🤩

Say hi to Erin & Erika!
They are two very active teens who love to play and then purr up a storm on your lap. They prefer to interact with people who are sitting, they can be a little shy with a lot of activity around. They love being petted and brushed and just need time to adjust to new people. They are perfect with their litter box and not fussy eaters. They are a bit unsure but intrigued by dogs and other cats. I think they would adjust over time. They are bonded because they were abandoned together at a park as young kittens. They are spayed and have always been very healthy despite their early neglect. We prefer to try to find a home for them together. They have been in foster care for a while with no interest 😕.
