378 lives improved in 2024 because of all of you!!!!!
We had 210 adoptions and 378 spays and neuters including our adopted kitties! Knowing 210 cats and kittens are in their warm homes being loved on right now is just amazing. And those 378 spays and neuters prevented thousands of future cats from suffering outdoors and adding to the population.
We have many people to thank! Our adopters are simply the best and we have the most incredible volunteers imaginable. From transporters to fosters, these lives were saved because of you! A million thanks to our donors who make our work possible and to all of our supporters. I know we don't thank you all enough but please understand every day we think about how fortunate we are to have you all behind us!

Please stop by Petsmart Easton to say hi to Erin and Erika!!! They have been there for a while now without a single application. I know their people are out there somewhere!
Sisters Erin and Erika were found living under a shed at a park. We brought them into the rescue hoping to find them a home where they could be loved however these sweet girls have gone months with zero interest. Their foster mom has done an amazing job caring for them and even though they are shy at times they are extremely loving and playful!
They are under a year old, spayed, vaccinated and fiv/felv tested negative. We would love to see them go to a home together.

We are so thankful for the hard work at SOS! They are our main resource for spay/neuter and are invaluable!

HAPPY NEW YEAR from the SOS of Ohio team. We would love to update everyone on what we have accomplished over the past year.

In 2024, the SOS of Ohio team was able to provide 9,470 spay and neuter surgeries to the public and local rescue groups, and an additional 3000 surgeries for the dogs at The Franklin County Dog Shelter. This puts our TOTAL for the past year at over 12,500 spay and neuter surgeries!!

We have continued our TNR program by fixing 1801 feral cats, thanks to the hard work of all of our community cat trappers!

We provided 7 day/week medical and emergency care to the dogs at The Franklin County Dog Shelter, along with helping the shelter team with their free vaccine clinics for the public.

We were able to see almost 10,000 new patients this year when you add in all of the new pets that came in through our low cost wellness program, Wellness Wednesdays.

We continued to host a teaching program for The Columbus State Veterinary Technology school where the students get to rotate through the high volume s/n clinic in addition to working with our vet/surgery team on site at the Franklin County Dog Shelter.

We provided numerous externships for 4th year vet students from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, along with other vet schools in and outside of the US. What we do is very specialized, and we love teaching veterinary and vet technician students the importance of our work with respect to keeping pets out of local shelters due to overpopulation and cost of veterinary care.

We have sent teams down to The Bahamas to help with Baark! (Bahamas Alliance For Animal Rights and Kindness)'s efforts to spay and neuter the island dogs.

We have stopped our surgery days to provide emergency veterinary care to hundreds of pets who's owners could not afford a full service veterinarian. Below is a picture of a sweet Pittie girl who came in with a life threatening pyometra that was addressed immediately by our team. Her owner did not have the money for emergency surgery, so her surgery costs were taken care of by our Goodsamaritan Fund.

We are so proud of all of our hard working staff members who are always willing to help others, our amazing community cat trappers and rescue organizations, and those of you who support our work with your donations.

We don't always have time to make these posts since we are busy feet seeing patients during the day, but please know that we are here helping the community the best we can, and we appreciate your continued support!

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays everyone! I took a minute today to look at our cat adoption count because I knew we were getting close to 200 and guess what? We have adopted out 207 cats this year!!!!
I will work on getting our spay and neuter count. But I just wanted to thank all of you today for being the amazing people that you are and I hope you know how much I appreciate you. Sending you so much love this Christmas day.

Skittles has been in foster care for months waiting for a family and now she's at Petsmart Easton in hopes of finding her forever home!

Skittles is a dilute torti who is approximately a year old. Her owner abandoned her outside when he found out she was pregnant 💔. Her kittens found homes long ago but she still waits.
Skittles craves human attention! She is in a foster home with several cats and dogs. She's doing well with the cats but she is not a fan of dogs. She is fine with the adult cats in her foster home and plays well with the younger ones. She would be happy as an only pet or with one or two friendly cats.
Isn't she gorgeous?! Let's find this girl a home!!!

Bee has been in foster care almost 10 months now.
The longest I've ever had a cat in foster care by far.

This girl has been failed so many times and I'm heartbroken she doesn't have a home. Her foster mom has been the sweetest, most patient person but one of my biggest fears in rescue is having a foster person stuck with a cat that I can't find a home for, and here we are. We need to find this girl her own person who will love her for who she is.
Bee loves to be near you however she just recently progressed to letting her foster mom pet her during breakfast time. She not aggressive or overly nervous, she just likes to have her space to feel comfortable. She does well with cats but not a fan of dogs (although I think an older calmer dog would be fine). Kids would be too much for her unless old enough to respect her space.
She is absolutely the cutest cat that there could be. She has so much love but just shows it in her own way. She entertains herself for hours with toys. She LOVES her toys. She would be perfect for someone who wants a best friend but not a demanding pet.
I know someone is out there!!!!!! We need SHARES to find her person!

Look how purrfect this little cutie is!
Flower is a 12 week old dilute calico who is all ready for her forever home.
She is full of purrs and extremely loving. She would do best in a quiet home. She's not a fan of kids or dogs but loves her foster momma and other cats a bunch!
She will take a little extra time to adjust to a new home but she is well worth every second.

Not quite as small as the tabby kittens we've been sharing but equally sweet and cuddly!

Meet Humphrey!

This guy is 2-3 yrs old, fully vetted, and ready to go! He came to us from a home that had nearly 20 cats, and the owners were facing eviction. We have discovered that he absolutely loves kittens, so if you foster kittens and are looking for a father figure, he's your guy. He is playful and super smart. He does great with other cats, and would probably be just fine with kids/dogs with a slow introduction.

We have 2 more precious kittens who will be ready for homes this Wednesday!
Dasher and Comet are full of purrs and snuggles and are so playful AND insanely adorable!
Dasher is a little more calm while Comet is a bit more wild but both are gentle and sweet! They are both males.
They will be neutered, microchipped, have vaccines started and mom was fiv/felv tested negative. They are approximately 10 weeks old.

**Rudolph & Chickadee have a meet and greet lined up.
I have two amazing babies looking for homes!
Rudolph is a very playful, outgoing, loving orange male. He would fit in well in any loving home. Ready to go home next Thursday! Approximately 9 weeks old.
Chickadee has become the most affectionate little thing since her siblings all got adopted. She's super gentle and loving! She might not love really young rambunctious kids but otherwise she would fit in well anywhere. Her vetting is complete. Approximately 10 weeks old.
Rudolph is fostered in Mt Vernon and Chickadee in Utica.

****Boys were adopted. Chickadee is available!
My fosters are ready for homes!
I really hope they can find their families before Christmas 🎄 💗.
They all came from the same barn however Turkey is a single from one litter and the other 3 are from another litter. Turkey is approximately 15 weeks and the 3 are approximately 10 weeks.
Turkey is over the top sweet. He cries if you walk by without loving on him. Jay and Lark are also very sweet and gentle boys. Chickadee is getting more brave every day but she is a bit shy. All are super gentle and playful babies!! Lark looks like a little lynx baby and Jay looks like he might have some siamese mixed in. All gorgeous!!!
Everyone is spayed/neutered, vaccines started, microchipped, and fiv/felv tested negative.
They are used to other cats and very curious and want to play with my dog.
Fostered in Utica (45 minutes NE of Columbus).
