💚Long post, but please read💚Never in my life have I done something so difficult, but yet so rewarding. Yesterday was the outcome of months of hard training and dedication. It was such an honor representing
This race was for all those suffering with kidney disease that aren’t as lucky as my son, Tyler.
When things got really hard in the later miles, I reached for my mantra of “he didn’t ask for this, I did!” What that simply means is, during Tyler’s kidney transplant he pushed through all the pain as if it didn’t phase him, while his mom and I almost broke into pieces. He had no choice in the matter, but yet he still stayed strong. I had a choice yesterday to give up when things got hard, but his will helped me through it all.
I want to thank my wife and boys for basically running their own little marathon trying to find me on the race course 😆 and for always supporting me no matter what crazy thing I do next!!
I want to thank each and every one of you for following along on this journey with me, it meant the world to me knowing all my friends (even the ones I have never even met) and family had my back!! You all were with me yesterday to help me kick NYC ass!!
Till the next marathon!!!
