Yesterday, as Legend and I gifted a local police department with a copy of 𝙇𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙇𝙖𝙙, this thought came to me: Lad is still taking me places I never would’ve gone without him, but now he stays behind when I leave, touching hearts with life-changing truth. Has his life been shortened or mysteriously lengthened by the God that brings life out of death, beauty out of brokenness, and joy out of sorrow?

Marie Eguero: I was able to find this on the IAMs website. I think "ideal weight" is quite a bit thinner than many pet owners realize. Looking at the statistics, more than half of pets are actually overweight. I think many pet people would be surprised if they went over my showdogs' bodies, to see the weight that they are at.

Note that in the ideal weight description, it says "...ribs, spine, and hips should be easily felt...". The way I determine good weight is to feel those hipbones. If you cannot easily feel them, the dog needs to lose a bit of weight.

Being overweight can cause bone and joint problems, heart disease, canine diabetes... simply put, ***it shortens a dog's life**.
