These three sweet souls are still looking for their homes!

💙 Connor is a 9 month old male pit/basset hound mix who weighs roughly 70lbs. He’s neutered, fully vaccinated (3 rounds) including rabies, and microchipped. He’s housebroken, and used to being confined to a room while his foster family is out, and is good with dog, cats, and loves kids even those as young as 2 years old. He’s a big, bumbly boy who loves to run and play in the yard and would do well with a family interested in hugs and kisses. His adoption fee is $300 and his meet and greet will take place in Clark County, OH.

🩷 Ella is a 9 month old female german shepherd/bernese mountain dog who weighs around 50lbs. She’s spayed, fully vaccinated (3 rounds) including rabies, and microchipped. She is housebroken, crate trained, leash trained, good with other dogs, but will chase cats (she is trying to play but misreads the signals) and would do best in a high energy household - think a few kids with a fenced in backyard and they would all mutually benefit from playing together. Her adoption fee is $300 and her meet and greet will take place in Champaign County, OH.

🧡 Trixie is a 9 month old female german shepherd/bernese mountain dog who weighs around 60lbs. She’s spayed, fully vaccinated (3 rounds) including rabies, and microchipped. She is housebroken, crate trained, leash trained, good with other dogs, cats, and older kids. She’s a shy, and reserved girl who would do well with an older family who enjoys hanging out, but don’t let her being shy fool you because once she’s comfortable with you she loves to cuddle. Her adoption fee is $300 and her meet and greet will take place in Champaign County, OH.

Connor, our beloved goofball, strutted into the vet today for his big snip-snip adventure - we were a bit on edge when he had a tiny seizure, but like a true superstar, he bounced back!

This lovable fella is still on the hunt for his forever family, which is baffling because he's a bundle of joy. He’s a social butterfly with other dogs, cats, and even those tiny humans – in fact, he’s a big fan of them! He knows the basics (though he occasionally plays hard to get with commands), and let me tell you, this pup can leap like a superhero when the mood strikes!

Connor is a 7 month old, neutered, male, pitbull/bassett hound mix who weighs over 50lbs already! He’s had 3 rounds of vaccines plus rabies, and is microchipped. He’s mostly housebroken but does still have some accidents, and would do best with a fenced in yard for him to run and play!

💢💢💢 EXPERIENCED PARVO FOSTER NEEDED 💢💢💢

This sweet pup was abandoned and has tested positive for parvo. He has shown slight improvement and begun eating today; however, he is still vomiting and suffering from bloody diarrhea. We would love to help support him, and hopefully save his life but in order to do that we will need a foster family willing to follow strict medical protocol and cleaning procedures.

Sometimes, it just doesn’t matter whether you vote red, blue, whatever.
Right now, we are watching, not only as brothers, sisters, mothers, children, neighbors, COMMUNITY; but AS A WORLD, what can happen when we let hate rule our brain, mouth, and heart.
There truly are amazing, kind, and genuine people in Springfield, Ohio. Ones that do not let fear rule their lives.
Unfortunately, there are also those who choose to let their ignorance and fear run rampant, and not only that, SPREAD it to all who will lend an ear.
Pets; cats, dogs, etc., are not being targeted, hunted, and/or eaten in Springfield, Ohio. This is false information, literally MADE UP, and couldn’t be further from the truth. Loud voices full of hate and lies have utilized social media, the NEWS, friend groups, and more to just flat-out TARGET Haitians in the community, and furthermore, POC in general.
These individuals, who just keep yelling and screaming about “the pets” becoming food (and more; taking jobs, housing etc.) are the same people who get scared when a POC enter a gas station. Or look at them on the street. Or attempt to ask directions.
The truth is, there is a huge stray, unwanted, and owned animal issue in Springfield. Owners find themselves in a situation where maybe their dog/cat is injured and they can’t afford the vet bill, or maybe their animal had an unwanted litter, maybe the animal just isn’t working out, or is aggressive. There are extremely LIMITED resources for the residents of Clark County in owned animal situations.
So, owners think the only option is to let their animal go. Maybe it will find a good home, they never are hoping for the worst. They hope their animal has that storybook ending of anything better than what was happening or WOULD happen in the owner’s mind if they kept them.
Mostly, the above scenario is for canines in the county. But there is a very real problem with the cat population as well. Dealing with feral and/or stray cats is not for the weak. It is endless, expensive, dangerous, and thankless. Rescues do what they can to help cat communities, and private citizens try to help care for cat colonies that are established and pay for their food, medical, etc., themselves.
But again, there are LIMITED resources. For cats in Clark County, there are almost NONE. So, rescues raise money, as much as they can, often with little luck. They post on social media, tirelessly for people to sponsor their spays/neuters/adoptions/food, donate to their general fund, foster, SHARE. ANYTHING to help any of their costs so they can continue the seemingly endless fight.
THEN, something like what is going on now happens. The whole world is looking at us! And all they can think or see is: WHAT a wild and RIDICULOUS place, and they either BELIEVE the lies that pets are being consumed, or they just can’t believe that a community (because outsiders looking in ARE lumping us together) would actually believe what is being said.
What they aren’t seeing is YOU. The caring, genuine person, who believes we are all in this together. They aren’t seeing the REAL problem with the animals of Clark County. The overcrowded shelters, the rescues out of fosters, the people who just don’t have another cent to buy food for their cat colony. They don't see that Springfield is NOT the hate filled center of the universe.
It is unacceptable that our community is dangerous for Haitians. It is unacceptable that our community is dangerous for POC. It is unacceptable that our community is dangerous for our goverment employees.
The hate is just SO loud.
But you know what? WE CAN BE LOUD TOO. Not only for the animal community, but for the PEOPLE who are directly being targeted and flat out put in harms way with the racist lies and agenda being pushed. BE LOUD FOR THE HAITIANS AND POC IN YOUR AREA. Speak up and educate. BE LOUD FOR THE ANIMALS IN YOUR AREA. Speak up. EDUCATE. Our community of pets and our PEOPLE need to feel safe, need to be uplifted, and feel like the SQUAWKING from the racists is few and far between the LOVE and PEACE they feel from us.
Do not let this hate spread all over Ohio. Ohio has had hate flying for long ENOUGH.
You've had enough. We've had enough. LOVE IS LOUDER ANYWAY.

She's a sweetheart who loves fluffy toys, soft beds, and even napping in the grass! She's housetrained, crate trained, and does well around other dogs and cats.

These two boys joined the APARC family nearly an entire year ago and had such a severe parasitic infestation we thought we’d lose them; but, thankfully they found an amazing foster who nursed them back to health - and now has decided to adopt them!

PUPPIES! PUPPIES! PUPPIES!

It’s “National Adoption Week” at Petsmart this week (July 15th-21st) which means it’s the perfect time to fill out an adoption application so we can set up a meet and greet at the Petsmart on Bechtel Ave. in Springfield!

We currently have 10 amazing puppies (pit/bassett hound mixes, and shepherd/bernese mountain dog mixes) available for adoption who have had ZERO applications! All of our pups are 5 months old and have had 3 rounds of vaccinations, been dewormed, and are microchipped, and will be adopted out on strict spay/neuter contracts which add no additional cost to their adoption if one of our approved veterinarians are used.

Introducing our Teacup Werewolves - or maybe they’re Shepherd (Mom) and Bernese Mountain Dog (Dad) mixes!

Meet Charlotte, Chloe, Ella, Linda, Mazikeen, Morningstar, and Trixie, the latest additions to the APARC family! These adorable pups have been welcomed into our family by a dedicated foster, and now we need your support to secure the fantastic kennel and enclosure their foster has been working tirelessly to build.

To complete the fencing around the shed transformed into their new kennel, we aim to raise approximately $1,000 and acquire some straight 2x4x8's. With this funding, we can create a 50ft by 100ft play area on one side and a 50ft by 50ft play area on the other. Although it's a monumental task, establishing this area will enable us to respond swiftly to future litters in danger.

We understand it's a significant amount, but we're facing a veterinary bill exceeding $2,500 even after a recent payment of $1,500, and there are still 11 puppies in need of spaying/neutering. Operation OOPS has been gaining momentum this year, and now we're feeling the impact of it all.

You may have noticed we've had an influx of pups at APARC recently and that's because they're all a result of our Operation OOPS program, which means not only are these pups being spayed and neutered, their mothers have also been spayed and will never again have an unplanned litter!
