Hi everyone it’s me Rose again. Today is day 231 for me out here at the shelter. I’m very sick of this place , this kennel, and the other dogs. Can you help me find my home by spreading the word and sharing this post? It would mean the world to me !

We would like to introduce you to Bo. Bo is 14 years old and the oldest resident at Nala's New Life Rescue. He was rescued from Okeechobee Animal Control at 9 years old and due to serious previous abuse issues, Bo is not adoptable. He loves his life at the ranch, he is out on his porch every day, goes for car rides and enjoys Nala's wonderful volunteers and staff.

Bo unfortunately has a foreign body, they are not sure what it is but we had to rush him to All Creatures Animal Hospital yesterday and we desperately need to raise money to pay for his care to try to save his life..The vets are confident with proper medications and treatment he can avoid surgery but Nala's has had so many emergencies lately that we need to reach out to our supporters to help Bo.

Nala's does not receive a dime from any local, state or federal organizations. Due to Covid, Nala's has lost a substantial amount of money from Greater Give, United Way, Amazon Smile cancelling their funding programs.

Bo had a hard life and as a senior dog, Nala's was his only hope. He is very healthy for his age so we are hoping to be able to save his life, we are hoping to raise 1200. Thank you to anyone who can donate, every amount counts.Please donate on our website at www.nalasrescue.org

****UPDATED ADOPTED!****Pancho’s mom died. This boy is so so confused. He’s a 3 year old deaf bulldog who is incredibly sad and bewildered. He loves everyone and does not understand why he is in a shelter and not home being loved. If he could talk he we would say “WTF?” Please share Pancho! 3.5 Years without a home…. 3.5 years of being overlooked…

This is the heartbreaking face of Mack that we as volunteers/staff see every single day as he pleads for us to spend time with him…

Mack came to us in 2019 from a very high kill shelter in Georgia. He was friendly and full of energy, but initially did not adjust well to our kennel environment whatsoever. He had some overstimulation issues but with our dedicated volunteers working with him day after day, he has blossomed into an ABSOLUTE angel.

Mack loves people. He is house trained, crate trained and super quiet when left alone. He LOVES to cuddle up at night and LOVES to play with toys. He doesn’t really pull on leash and he is super obedient. Mack does fine walking near and seeing other dogs outside, but he would prefer to be the only dog in the home.

Theo was just adopted!!!!

🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨Theo is in desperate need of a home or rescue asap he has until 6/21/24. His adoption fee is $25.He is getting fixed right now and all his shots!!!! He is a beagle mix and is really sweet. He is great with kids. He seems to be good with other dogs and not sure on cats or house broke. All he wants is a loving home and a kid to play ball with.

KENTUCKY!!
AC says his chain makes it to the back of the home. So??? He is chained 24/7 with no shelter!! In the freezing cold and hot weather! Don't see a water bowl or food bowl...though the water would be frozen out there!

This morning, Donna was out checking for any cold strays who needed help and had someone with her on a ride-along. She stopped on the side of the road when she saw a doghouse, sitting in the middle of nowhere. She walked up to the doghouse, and saw straw sticking out of the front. Dread and heaviness filled her when she realized the doghouse was not empty. It hurts us to even type these words. Inside was a beautiful white dog with a collar, frozen to death. With her were newborn puppies, all also frozen to death.

Together, they lifted the entire doghouse into the jeep. They brought the whole family back to Stray Rescue so we can have them cremated and at least give them dignity in death. It's obvious the doghouse was dumped here, as it is nowhere near any houses or property. We are so sorry to give you this horrific and sickening news, but this is reality. This is why we beg people to bring their pets in during these dangerous and deadly temperatures. Even if you have to put them in your basement - do it. They will not survive in these temperatures. Please. So we don't have gut wrenching mornings like this. Doghouses and straw are NOT ENOUGH WHEN IT'S THIS COLD.

Help needed!!

Update. Mom and baby are still alive and well, getting a tad more trusting.. I know there’s a lot of people that “want” him, but she goes too, she’s feral. But doing a lot better, she may bite but has not if she feels threatened she’s a sweet dog just doing her job as a mama,
With that being said ...
If you don’t want them together / you will euthanize the mom / if you don’t have experience with feral dogs or if you have a ton of dogs, kids, lots going on .. she’s not going to be going to you. ..

I appreciate all the offers on the post and maybe have 6 people in my inbox ....

We all know how deep a mother’s love runs and this is probably the saddest thing I’ve ever witnessed.. we always say they will be fine. They will get over it... maaaaan nope. Now I have seen it for my own eyes even dogs know pain and feel the loss of eachother... so I’m pleading for Mama and baby they need a calm place to chill for a bit, this mama “lucy” is a tad on the fearful untrusting side (thanks humans for failing yet another dog) .. and the little cutie on the left although he looks big enough ,old enough, he’s not mentally ready to be away from his mom and she shuts down when he is gone.
Lucy spent her days on the street gathering food keeping herself strong to feed her only son. While , storing baby hidden under an abandoned house for safe keeping, he was found first. ( she must have lost her mind when she went back and he was gone) she later got caught in a trap... During his time in the shelter he refused to eat, drink or even move. Completely shattered... lost.. confused... afraid and unsure as to where his life line was..

when mama showed back up.. both of them lit up with joy! Reunited.and since then. They have been literally like this. I don’t know who needs who more at this point.. they both need eachother.. I’m hoping that with the patient love of a human their lives can be restored and they can eventually be spilt up.

The shelter is no place for them to learn - it’s loud. It’s cold, it’s sooooooooooo loud they are not used to it. & need a calm environment that can encourage them.

She is weary of people - he refuses any contact from any one but her and vis versa ...

Preferably a home that can either be kept away from loud kids, multiple dogs.

She’s about 3 and he is 8 weeks ...
